After struggling in so many Mile/1500 races with long covid, running 7:33 last night at Stockholm Diamond League for 3rd is really encouraging to see a return to form and must be a great confidence boost for him getting back now.
Great to see, especially for an athlete who always makes races so much more interesting/honest
Australia’s 1500m record holder was dramatically pulled from a race in March and later diagnosed with pericarditis – inflammation around the heart – in an adverse reaction to the Covid booster shot, which his team said he administered too quickly after having the virus itself.
and that is a guess. but either way, it is a microcosm of the decisions made by our "health experts" over the past couple years. They completely ignore the benefits of natural immunity in encouraging the entire population to get as many shots as possible. it is so dishonest and shady.
To be fair, it wasn't just the "booster shot." It was the booster shot "administered too quickly after having the virus itself."
Who cares even if that's the case? All the vaccine mandates make no distinction. They just demand you get it, with no warning about when or discussion about who really needs it. Also see Sage Canaday and Filip Ingebrigtsen for elite runners affected longterm by the shot. And those are only the ones who have come out publicly to say it. I know many other elite runners who had severe health problems after the 'vaccines'. In many cases heart problems.

Interesting? Absolutely!
Honest? Stewy, unwilling or unable to develop what it takes to "beat" high level competitors does NOT make it more worthy or "honest" than those who can. He runs races with a strategy that he and his coaches believe gives him the best chance to place high or win. That is not any more "honest" than any other competitor. Some might say it is "dishonest" to push the pace and shape a race when you have no ability to finish it off.
Maybe I will sprint to the lead of the NYC marathon for 3 miles to show how "honest" I am!
I am really happy for the guy that he is returning to form. He really stayed with it when putting up one terrible (for him and his level) race after another. It is pretty difficult for me not to pull for a guy who has had a really rough go and is coming out on the other side of it all.
Big fan of Stewy! Delighted to see him front running again yesterday, and just in time for Worlds as well.
Maybe even a blessing in disguise, that he’s had a bit of downtime going into the Championship?
Cheering on him either way!
Yeah while I loved it, maybe he was a bit overraced last year. This year he should be fresher for the Final if he makes it. It’s notable that only Kipsang has rivaled at him as far as racing this year. I think you could argue a few guys (Kerr, Teare, Tefera) are underraced this year.

But, but, I though covid was fake and just like a “bad cold.” 🙄
It’s good that he’s back.
it was the booster shot

My dad chewed chewing tobacco since he was a teen.
He also started drinking diet Pepsi recently.
Turns out he was diagnosed with throat cancer recently. Can't believe diet pepsi would cause that 😳
You are in a pitiful state of denial. Even when athletes outright say "it was the Covid shot" that caused pericarditis, myocarditis, a blood clot, etc and so on you can't fathom the possibility of it being true. "Safeandeffectivesafeandeffective"... guess you actually still believe that because you were told that the 'good guys' believe that. You believe so hard and so faithfully despite all the real world examples demonstrating neither safety or effectiveness. Incredible.

Deranged, unhinged, brain damaged woke logic . It takes quite the crazy person to attack someone simply because they've shed a legitimate negative light on a drug provided by historically dubious corporations pushed by historically dubious govts
Fake news. The Donald, who knows much more than all the scientists and generals, said that there were only 15 cases total and those were easily cured by drinking bleach and injecting lysol. And anyone stupid enough to get the fake shot now has a Microsoft chip in them that tracks their advertising needs.

dude I realize you have Trump derangement syndrome and therefore bring him up as if you're arguing against him in every circumstance, but you do realize this is a thread about a Covid 'vax' injured athlete, right? Perhaps not quite the place for your oddly smug microchip and bleach rant to land so well. I know, it's a bummer but I'm sure there's a better opportunity for that bit of wit in a different context.
