Sometimes the lap/100/200/400 counters online miss a split, so then it places it like they are a section back (depends on what increment you are using)
Tracking was off but Coburn got away with 2 laps to go, Frerichs tried to make moves on Wayment but there’s a gap there for now and Wayment crushed her the last 300 and may have cut a little into Coburns margins
True, but why not gamble for one of the runners on the fringe who can run low 15s, just go from the gun, make everyone run a legit 5000M, and if they let you go, they the rest will fight for only two spots
This. Amazing there wasn't at least one person in the field brave enough to just so 'f**k it'.
I was giving commentary to my non-track fan associate, and I had to keep noting that the usatf commentators would pick up on what I was saying in a few minutes. Sometimes they did. About ten seconds after Bor dropped I said "Jager is pacing, too. He'll drop in two or three laps." And how could anyone in that position not have known that Woody would make a serious run over the last 400? On the other hand, no commercials, no Dwight Stones. Overall, I'm happy to have been able to watch the whole race(s).
Yeah, and they took a really long time to notice Weini Kelati was barely hanging on and looked pretty much doomed too...
