Crushed Cain's record! And pretty much all solo, no help from Willis or any of the college girls.
Good for her!!! The US U20 team is looking solid.
KInda hard to believe that scrawny babyish Mary Cain also ran a 1:59. The GOAT of range.
Mary Cain was a middle distance runner

That’s sick :) hoping she does well in college, and at this rate, she could go the Athing Mu route. The US is DEEP in the womens 800 right now.
Don't worry. Juliette Whittaker has a good head on her shoulders.
Just out of curiosity what's the cutoff date considered for high school records
Have they just always given the athletes through June
If she was to have run faster over the summer July or august does that also count?
The organization that is considered the authority on records, Track and Field News, gives high school seniors until August 31 or whenever they start college, whichever happens first.
Great race by Whittaker!!! Willis ran 2:00.30 (great race for her too!) but never challenged for the lead.
These girls deserve a BLACK PAGE! Great run!
Or at least an interview on the Track Talk podcast, like they did with Cade Flatt.
There are no official high school records. T&FN keeps unofficial records. They have their own rules which are inconsistent. For them, high school records can be set after the high school season, but NCAA records can only be set during the college season. (There are no official NCAA records either.)
LOL I pointed out the stark contrast between the attention being paid to Cade Flatt almost breaking the HS 800m record vs Juliette Whittaker actually breaking the HS 800m record, and my post was deleted.
Hey LR, maybe instead of deleting a post that could barely even be considered critical, you could - I don't know - make mention of Juliette Whittaker on your front page, the way a track journalist might. Not even asking for the black page we all know you would have given to Flatt.
I was thinking the same thing. Definitely some irony here.
Exactly TFN is a "self-appointed" authority.
Also Cain ran her race while still actually a HS student. In fact, she was still an actual 11th grade student with over a year of HS left to complete.
I always felt Cain was an 800 runner actually and if she had focused on that, the record would be lower.
But none of this is an attempt to disparage JW. Congratulations to her, I'm curious what he future will bring.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
