Sad :(
Why do braziers feet keep breaking
The 800 just grinds them up and spits them out.
So sad to hear. Brazier is one of the most fun runners to to watch race and it sucks to hear he might miss the World Championships this year after being injured for the Olympics last year. Really hoping he can pull through, but I love the transparency instead of hiding like most of the pros
Pete Julian strikes again. This one "coach" has done more damage to USATF mid & distance than any other coach in history.
How long until Nike finally drops this guy
You say this, but he merely has a mixed record like most coaches. Brazier was awesome and mostly healthy in 2019-20 and unfortunately has been injured since, but Jessica Hull and Sinclaire Johnson are thriving at the moment. Engels this year not so good, but good years in 2019 and 2021 making a worlds final and running 3:33. Raevyn Rogers got a medal last year and is running even better this year. Koko has run well over the years, though she too has dealt with many injuries on and off.
It does suck with Brazier that he's stuck in an injury cycle now though.
Or maybe his desire to run a fast 400m led to training that re-injured his foot.
Can he skip USAs and run worlds? Doesn't he have the "Wild Card?"
Wouldn't he at least need to jog a round (participate in the meet)?
In the last 6 months:
Raevyn Rogers, the Olympic Bronze Medal, 800m has been brilliant outdoors.
Sinclaire Johnson, Current US Leader, 3:58 1500m. PBs by over 5 seconds this season from her last coach.
Ella Donaghu, PBs in the 3000m, Mile and 5000m this season.
Womens DMR, World Record, 2022
Donavan Brazier, 2nd (2nd!) at 2022 USA Indoor, 400m. #2 All time 600m.
Shall we talk about Jessica Hull? Every record from 1500m to 5000m and on a tear this summer.
Also Klosterhalfen just ran European 2M record at Pre.
The guy really sucks as a coach LOL. Seems like the only damage he’s inflicting is against his competitors.
Which explains why he was walking around with one heel out of his shoe at the Portland Track Festival. Must be really serious.
That’s a shame. Chronic injuries are always depressing. Must be very frustrating to be that good and watch the years go by.
Too bad. Bright side is there's another worlds next year.
union ac/CE loved training in SLO last winter
Union ac relocates, Pete out VH in
No. The rule is something like you have to prove your fitness at the trials. I believe for every country. I assume this was part of the negotiations with national committees when they put the wild cards in. They agreed to it on condition the athletes still had to do their nation championships or trials. I don't think anyone has ever run the trials and the national committee has said you didn't prove your fitness. I know people just run the first rounds. So I assume of Brazier ran 3 mins and finished last he would still be named to worlds.
He has to run one round at USA's.
What if he walked it??
not seeing much support here for a guy named brassiere
