Parker MF Stinson crushes his race at Grandmas this morning with a huuuuuuuge sub-2:13.
Some people in the live thread predicted a huge bonk but he nailed the race with a top 10 finish.

Parker is BACK
He and CJ were in the lead pack for most of the race until the last 8K.
Back to Stinsoning it
That’s not right. He hung in there this time and was in good control throughout.
Big race for PS
He split 1:04/1:08. Maybe not as bad as his debut or Boston, but he did tank.
He’s back all right…back off the lead pack of real runners.
How is 2:13/2:14 even relevant in US running? If he’s not 2:10 or faster he’s not “back”.
unless you mean back to the drawing board.
Well I thought it was a great race! Guess I was a little overly excited, but I think being right up there with CJ (arguably a top 2 American) is a great sign
Fauble and Rupp were both quicker than CJ in the last year
Well that is why I said “arguably”.
Based on training I think CJ is better than Fauble, it just didn’t work out for him in that one race. So I think this was a great sign from PS…he will probably be a factor at the trials
Just starting the race at the trials would be a minor miracle for Parky.
With apparently a huge and consistent tailwind for almost the entire race. The number of PRs I saw on Strava from friends racing it was unlike any other marathon outside of REVEL madness.
You should rank marathoners based on marathon race results not training.
Maybe that explains why I love CJ and the Stinman so much!

Yeah except Medals, Olympic spots, National titles etc are not based on training sessions, it's about how and what you do on the day. But maybe CJ had a bad day, let's look at them side by side...

"Men lie, women lie, numbers don't"
Yeah I think you demonstrate pretty nicely there how CJ is probably rated higher (5 sub 2:12 vs only 3 for Faubs) and certainly a more consistent runner

See what you're doing is called Statistical Bias. You're warping the results to fit your view. I can do that too. ie: "Fauble is probably rated higher (6x 2:12's or under vs. CJ's 5x)"
The fact of the matter is Fauble has 3x run under CJ's PR. You're arguing a 2:10 guy is the same as a 2:08 guy. Get a grip.
Well, it goes back to why I say “arguably”. We can agree to disagree!
Either way, great to see Park so close to a top level American
Stinson created this thread. How is this result even relevant? He still has instagram going for him at least
