Why in the hell would Nuguse want to run in college for another year? I thought he was the next best miler in the US? Why was he even running for 5 years at Notre Dame. He should have turned pro after the 2021 NCAA season.
How is this interview cringe? Seems like the nicest and most genuine guy in the sport. Happy to see he's healthy, 1500 at USAs is going to be a good one!

You're in for a HUGE surprise in two weeks at the US championships when you still see collegiate uniforms.
SMH.....the ones with college uniforms on still represent their schools. I had my college uni on for 3 USA Outdoor Championships, as I was still a full-time college student-athlete.
Nuguse has run 5 cross seasons, 5 indoor seasons and chose to run in one outdoor competition (non track meet) during his 5th outdoor season. The NCAA season is over, why isn't he a pro?

1) Why can he not continue to represent his school through the track season? I'd imagine he wants to show some love to the school that helped him to be a collegiate record holder, Olympian, etc.
2) I'd also guess he's waiting to sign a contract until after the US Championship. If he makes the team (again), he's got an argument for more money.
He had an injury from indoor season that didn't allow him to chase the qualifying marks in time.
He ran that stupid pro race (Sound Running?) in 3:39 during the outdoor season and it didn't count for NCAA regionals. All he had to do was time trial a regional qualifier. Unbelievable and an awful way to go out of college.
