Today at the Music City Track Festival. He beat the entire professional and college field in his heat. Amazing!

His dad’s lifetime PR is 1:46.33 and he had pretty good college career.
Video?
Granville's 800m record is proving to be BOSS!!
Honestly I wish someone would like SMASH his record rather than be like 0.06 to 0.08 seconds off. They got close but damn it’s so unsatisfying tbh
No official video, because they cut the live stream to the meet a few minutes before his race.
Hopefully someone in the stands took a video of his race and will post it on YouTube.
Wait a few more weeks. Either Flatt or Sumner will break it.
Are they both slated to run New Balance?
If and when they meet up it will be the biggest prep match-up since Ritz v. Webb.he
This kid’s talent is through the roof. I predict he runs 1:43 next year like Brazier.
Disappointing they (meet promotors) didn't realise the opportunity and put him in the B heat. I'm pretty confident he would have got the record.
PS - he's still not wearing super spikes

Why is it unsatisfying?
From the look of the splits, he led the race from 400m out? This guy for sure has a 1:45 in him right now if in the right race.
How old is Sumner?
20 yr old guy trying to break Granville record? Not going to happen. Granville is the best. Not no newberry park, not no 19 or 20 yr old

Hes 18 not 20. Birthday in October 2003. This has been beaten to death on these forums.
Is he scheduled to race Cade Flatt anytime soon? Can we get them in a race and get a Sowinski to rabbit for 500?
What a year. 2 of the 3 top 800 runners of all time in the same class and have not and may not race. Two of top 5 milers of all time in the same class and will not ever race in HS although of one their brothers is going to race the other.

National meets at this rate don't matter anymore with how many are popping up. Kind of sad.
On another note, somebody tell me how WIll Sumner get stuck in the JUCO/DII heat vs. the B heat?
The kid led at 400m in 51.5 and close under 55s. unfortunate that he could not get pushed more or pulled to a real time i.e. Cade Flatt
