the winner should be coming in in 15-20 minutes, it will be very interesting to see how gabe jennings does.
definitely looking forward to seeing Gabe's results.
If the winner is coming soon, gabe will be 20 minutes or more back.... if he makes it at all.
looks like there is/was a nice tailwind for the runners today
if any of you are there, please feel free to heckle Violetta Kryza of Poland. She is a drug cheat. The press release even touts the time she ran in the race she was caught!
Jennings was 2nd in 2 19ish after leading from mile 7-25
Wiolette, got caught from behind, in the last 1/2 mile. 2 37 high. For 2nd place woman
If Jennings ran 2:19 I'd be very impressed. But was he out-kicked? Now that would be quite a burn!
any detailed results? is this true about jennings?
My dad caught the end of the race of local TV here in Sacramento. He said that Jennings was 2nd after leading much of the way. He was outkicked in the last .5 mile. 2:19 sounds legit for 2nd place at CIM.
I thought Gabe was in shape, but discounted his chances of running a 2:teens marathon. Extremely impressed.
What kind of course is it? Even flat & easy, 2:19 is something to get excited about.
The guy has, in my opinion, more of a marathoner's running form than that of an 800m/1500m guy. Sort of a Salazar shuffle, doesn't look like a powerful miler (i.e., he's sure no Ovett or Walker). So maybe Gabe's found his event!
I dont understand why people get excited when Gabe Jennings produces times that will not get him very far on the world stage. could someone please explain this to me?

If he was a marathoner, then it shouldn't get us excited. But a 2:19 MILER means unbelievable endurance to work with going into the new year. It means an awesome base and gives great promise this coming season.
Gabe will make the US Olympic Team as a 5K runner in 2008. Watch out.
Yeah yeah yeah, enough about Gabe. Now give us some results? Who won?
I don't think that 2:19 is something special even for a miler, it just shows that he has done his long-runs. Endurance wise it's not that excellent.
This performance indicates that his anaerobic threshold is around 5:10/mile what is actually not good for a world-class miler(unless you have 46sec 400m speed and great anaerobic capacity).
Noholmes, you are an idiot. Let's see: can you run a 2:19? F uck, you probably do YOUR long runs and can't break 3:30. And I wouldn't be suprised if Gabe had 46 sec 400 speed (even without doing much speedwork).
Smart person, you have no clue about world class miling and are not a friendly person by the way.
