Great hire. An upgrade from Beth Alford-Sullivan.
Tennessee is back!
“canvas the worldwide track community for an elite distance coach to oversee Tennessee's cross-country program.”
This should be interesting. Will the emphasize Cross Country at all? Who makes their list?
Jebreh Harris, Khadevis Robinson, George Watts, and Caleb Morgan are probably considered.
So where does Ken Harden and David Neville end up? Maybe Ross will keep one, doubt he keeps both.
This means they will need a distance coach...I wonder what his vision for this will be. At A&T you can get away with being sprint-oriented, but at UT I would assume they (admin) will want some kind of respect in the distance/cc.
Congratulations Duane! A seismic shift about to happen in SEC Track and Field.
I'm almost certain that if he keeps one it'll be Ken Harden. I don't k ow much about him personally as far as character but I know that he's the more respected sprint coach.
Yes, Ken is much more seasoned as a coach than David. Duane Ross may very well clean house and get an entirely new staff.
Does this mean Tmars McCallum will decommit from NC A&T?
Peter Dalton would be a good hire as well

Dang.... a LOT going on with Ross this week.
Come on we all know the 1 reason why Ross got hired for this job
He is a dang good coach.

None of those will be candidates for the XC job. Legit possibilities?
Being a big fan of HBCU track I hate to see this. When does an HBCU school win an NCAA relay, yep NCA&T.
Actually think this sucks.
Heard Pete Watson is interested, any truth to this?
Heard he was interested in director, doubt he would leave Texas for the same position at Tennessee.

A massive upgrade. It's hard to believe that Ross was under the radar when his success was right there in front of everyone.

People have been speculating Duane would leave A&T for a P5 position for the past 3-4 years. It’s just about time!
