Who is going to make the US team?
Who is going to make the US team?
Me. I am going to get in top shape and make the most amazing comeback.
Umm... ever heard of Chris Derrick?
With newly acquired US citizenship concomitant with his move to NYC for the filming of his television series, Greg Zawaski will shock the US running world by coming out of retirement and winning USATF XC Nationals.
Women
Alicia Monson, Weini Kelati, Elly Henes, Taylor Roe, Karissa Schweitzer
Men
Connor Mantz, Grant Fisher, Casey Clinger, Dylan Jacobs, Nico Young
Woody Kincaid, Sean McGorty, Joe Klecker, Connor Mantz, Grant Fisher.
Team USA top three finish.
Grant Fisher has highest US finish at World XC in years. Two time Footlocker Champ makes his Pro XC debut and finishes top 4 with strong medal possibility.
I will wager than Australia postpones it again due to COVID.
Optimistic thinking Jerry would let his athletes go to world XC in a world champs year.
And yes I know they did Aarhus 2019, but Doha was late that year (October) and Schumacher hadn't really discovered the joys of time trialing yet (their run in the woods or whatever they called it when Kincaid broke 13 was later in 2019).
I'd love to be proven wrong, but I Imagine we'll be seeing the guys and gals in red and white hitting up the Sound Running 10k in March with Cranny trying to get Huddle's 10k record.
It would be great if some of the Newbury Park kids focused on running at World Cross next year. They are the greatest HS XC team of all time already. How do they stand up against the best teenagers in the world in XC? Could any of them get a medal there like Ritz did years ago? Something to think about.
In the upcoming USATF Distance Classic, Luis Grijalva is listed as a runner for the United States rather than Guatemala. If he is now a US citizen he would definitely be a favorite to make the US XC worlds team.
Have he and Elly Henes gotten married? I don’t recall the laws but if that is true, would that alone make Luis a US citizen?
They have multiple overseas down as USA runners think it is just sloppy admin
Unfortunately Sahlman can’t run u20 world xc next year, he was born in 2003, aaron leo and lex on the other hand, all still have 2 years left as u20 because they were born in 2005.
I’d love to see lex, colin and possibly aaron (not likely because even if he breaks 4 there are still Gary and Colin ahead of him and only 2 runners are allowed per country) at world u20 on the track this year though.
Hold on, so we're saying that Sahlman is like Natalie Cook and born in 2003 and we're not giving him crap? My oldest was born in 2003 and just returned home from her first year running in college. Y'all are sexist.
the bowerman athletes performed terribly in Denmark. The course in Bathurst looks to be pretty tough and it will be in the Australian Summer. No way Jerry lets his athletes run this event.
I wish we knew that the top runners would be running in the Trials Race so that we can have fun predicting. As usual they'll be skipping the race so that they can peak later in the year for a race that they may not run.
I DO wish there was enough money to get the top runners there- I understand that they're pro's and a guaranteed payday is important.
Yes, if Luis marries a US citizen, he's then a US citizen.
I dont think so - I think the waiting period is still 3 years if you are married - I wonder if the DACA status would increase that or make any changes at all. just curious
One other thing I believe that Molly Seidel has already said she intends to go for that XC team. I would love it if it were a bigger thing for folks but timing is always a bit odd. For those in other countries does Cross mirror the timing for Worlds or is it closer to the US of the fall Sept - Dec?
How many runners can make the u20 xc team? 5?
Good luck with that. The African teams are so strong, look at Uganda, Kenya and Ethiopia. We have no one that could be top 7 on any of their teams.
Grant Fisher would be top 7 on one of those teams for sure
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
