Damn, that must be hard as hell. The shirts weighed like 40 pounds.

Like I could give two shirts about this silly record…
And the fun part is that none of the shirts was from the letsrun collection.
Rojo your headline is incredibly confusing.
do you mean:
(1) He broke the world record the half marathon and he was wearing 111 shirts.
(2) He broke the world record for running a half marathon while wearing 111 shirts (or some weight equivalent)
Again, I don’t understand what you’re trying to say AT ALL and am just trying to clear things up!
Is this a shirt-graded world record?
This isn't silly, this is right in this board's wheelhouse. I expect someone from here to take down this record immediately. I can think of five or 184 of us who seek such validation and might just stand a chance.
Actually, rojo, how many burrito T-shirts do you have left?
Matt London could destroy this (assuming they can find t-shirts big enough for him).
I honestly do not understand the headline.
Did he run the fastest half marathon ever run by someone wearing 111 shirts? is that what happened?
Rojo : You heard of this thing, the 111 shirt half-marathon?
Wejo : Yeah, sure, 111 shirt half-marathon. Yeah, the world record.
Rojo : Yeah, this is going to blow that right out of the water. Listen to this: 112 shirt half-marathon.
Wejo: Right. Yes. OK, all right. I see where you're going.
Rojo : Think about it. You sign up for a marathon, you see the 111 shirt half-marathon record, there's 112 shirt half-marathon next to it. Which one are you gonna pick, man?
Wejo: I would go for the 112.
Rojo: Bingo, man, bingo. 112 shirt half- marathon. And we guarantee just as good a record as the 111 shirt.
Wejo: You guarantee it? That's - how do you do that?
Rojo : If you're not happy with the first 111 shirts, we're gonna send you the extra shirt free.
You see? That's it. 112. That's our motto. That's where we're comin' from. That's from "A" to "B".
Wejo: That's right. That's - that's good. That's good. Unless, of course, somebody comes up with 113 shirts. Then you're in trouble, huh?
Rojo : [convulses]
Rojo : No! No, no, not 113 I said 112. Nobody's comin' up with 113. Who runs the HM in 113 shirts? You won't even get your heart goin, not even a mouse on a wheel.
Wejo : That - good point.
Rojo: 112's the key number here. Think about it. 112 7 elevens. 112 dalmatians. 112, man, that's the number. 112 chipmunks twirlin' on a branch, eatin' lots of sunflowers on my
uncle's ranch. You know that old children's tale from the sea. It's like you're dreamin' about Gorgonzola cheese when it's clearly Brie time, baby. Step into my office.
Wejo: Why?
Rojo : 'Cause you're fackin' fired!
It wasn’t that confusing. Sorry you aren’t very smart. I got rojo’s back on this one.
If you know what it means then tell us
The WR for a HM is under an hour, not 2:47. Use context bro and your comprehension will improve.
Serious question: How is this any different than just a fat guy running a 2:47 HM?
I watched the video again (yeah), and noticed the guy indicated 112 shirts, but claims 111.
And the record WAS 89, so I'm not even sure what the record was. Can I walk a half in 106 shirts and have a record, or is this the >89 world half record?
I agree the thread title isn't the most clear. However, like most articles that are posted here, all you have to do is read it.
The record is for most shirts worn while completing a half marathon. Guinness sets a time limit of 3 hours which the HM must be completed under to count. If anyone wants to break the record, they'd need to wear 112+ shirts and finish under 3:00.
They do say in the article that it took 25 minutes to get all the shirts on, he lost feeling as his circulation was severely restricted, and his arms/hands swelled pretty significantly (as you can see in the pictures).
With the loss of feeling/having his circulation restricted coupled with the increased heart rate increased from attempting to complete the HM, that must've hurt like hell. The throbbing from each heart beat just continually causing pain, tingling, etc. would drive me crazy. Props to him.
"as he was wearing 111 shirts"
I knew it was rojo before I even clicked
I caught the There's Something About Mary reference.
I liked that movie way more than my spouse, who sat there with her arms crossed most of the time.

As wow, that is like amazing as that is a lot of shirts as they must weigh like a LOT and a TON as my god as why didn't the dude go for like 112 shirts as that is like more than 111? Astonishing as this dude is a stud.

Seriously why does he use the word “as” so much? Is it a Ivy League or is it a neuro diversity
