Do you know what abusive and manipulative men are? Why do you always blame women? Colin Strickland buying the murder weapon and supplying it to Armstrong means a lot because he premeditated the acts. Strickland set this up to happen because he preys on mentally vulnerable women like Armstrong and manipulates them to carry out violence and theft to fulfill his sick fantasies like he has done with other women. Armstrong would not have bought a gun herself so Strickland pushed one on her after leaving calls and texts from Moriah Wilson on his phone where he knew Armstrong would see them.
Please provide the Texas statute that defines premeditation, the statute that covers these sorts of scenarios, and tell us what Strickland will be charged with.
What? Conspiracy and intent to supply firearms isn't even a crime in parts of the US now? I hope Strickland is charged. Presumably its the cops' jobs to investiage these suspicious circumstances and build a case, like in other countries, not posters on an Internet forum.
She is an adult in full control of her actions. No one made her do anything, she could have just walked away. Him buying the gun means nothing, she could have just as easily killed him instead of her.

You must not think very highly of women. You are saying they are incapable of controling their emotions and easily manipulated into murder. I don't believe that to be true.

A person commits criminal conspiracy if, with intent that a felony be committed:
(1) he agrees with one or more persons that they or one or more of them engage in conduct that would constitute the offense; and
(2) he or one or more of them performs an overt act in pursuance of the agreement.
(b) An agreement constituting a conspiracy may be inferred from acts of the parties.
The Texas conspiracy statute. It seems like you’d have to do quite a lot of inferring, under (b), to get from “he bought some guns several months back” to “he formed an agreement with her that this murder should occur.” More inferring than most prosecutors are willing to do, certainly. What posters are claiming, that he should be charged solely for providing the weapon eventually used, is silly.
But there could be more, of course. If they talked about it, or if the invitation to swim was a plan to get the victim to a certain spot so the girlfriend could kill her… that’s different, certainly. But given how little effort she put into hiding her crime, this seems more like a crime arising from a sudden passion. She just drove her own car to the site and was seen on camera. The cops Interviewed her the next day. Why they let her get away, I dunno… sounds like incompetence! But point being, if this was a conspiracy, it was very badly conspired and poorly executed.
"What he said: "There is no way to adequately express the regret and torture I feel about my proximity to this horrible crime. I am sorry, and I simply cannot make sense of this unfathomable tragedy," Strickland said."

Good twitter thread analyzing Strickland's affidavit and comparing it to his social media statement on the murder. Some think there is enough to charge him as an accessory in the comments

Several posters in this thread have made the mistaken assumption that Kaitlin Armstrong has been arrested. She is still on the lam as of now (Saturday afternoon, 5/21) and is being hunted by The U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force.

At no point is he responsible for what ultimately happened. All these people are adults. If you find out your partner cheated that cheating is on them, how you react is on you.
The guy sounds like as ass and should be ashamed of himself but he didn't make his partner kill his side piece.
Colin Strickland is absolutely responsible for the murder of Moriah Wilson. He bought the gun used in the murder for Armstrong knowing full well her mental state and him continuing to cheat on her as a direct means of provacation, coupled with Strickland's past history of getting women to fight and steal from each other as part of his sick fantasies. Just read the police report, Armstrong is no mastermind murderer and told the police everything without resistance. Strickland supplied her with the weapon and set this whole thing up to happen.
Nope, this is a ridiculous theory of assigning causation and that has zero legal credibility. Strickland’s purchase of the guns is irrelevant for the murder, as irrelevant as anything else he did short of coercing or cooperating with Armstrong to commit the murder.

You are biased at best and a lying troll at worst because you have no way of knowing such information unless you are Armstrong or very close to her, in which case you are biased.

The sympathy for or rationalization of the actions of a prime murder suspect is crazy, almost like the national attention a pretty white girl gone missing gets. If Armstrong were a man, nobody would try to find a reason to hold anyone else responsible for his actions.

Thousands of pages of sociological studies have shown that women do not commit horrific murders unless under the influence of men. In fact, by nature, it is a masculine act when a woman commits a murder.
