I got an incredibly light bout of Covid over a month ago. Happened literally 4 days after running a half marathon PR (72 minutes).
Had a few days of much higher HR and breathing trouble, few days of actual symptoms (runny nose, sore throat, headache, aches) and then symptoms have mostly gone.
But, I'm still not 100%. I wear a HR strap every day and can see my HR is 5-10bpm higher than normal. I can feel something that feels like it's in the top of my lungs whenever I run, I can't describe it very clearly but it just feels like they're still not right. Going by HR & pace metrics I'm back to where I was before a really fantastic block leading up to that half PR, so I'm not in such a bad state I can't run, but it still absolutely blows. Friends (and what we see/hear from professional runners) that had much worse covid infections have made recoveries much faster than this, I'm getting more and more lost each day.
I ran yesterday and once again didn't feel right - had to stop and cry in the woods for a bit, as much as I hate to show emotion to other humans, it feels like my summer season is almost gone and an autumn marathon now feels like it could be next. I'm embarrased to talk about running with running friends or even be seen running at present. I'm have a psychology degree, so I know what to do about those issues, but does anyone have any experience with this post-covid?
