nobody can eat 50 eggs
Ladies and gentlemen, the much anticipated results are finally here. First off, thank you all very much for the encouragement and advice. Your support was much appreciated as we struggled to the gut-wrenching end. Going into this, we did not know what to fully expect. Many ideas and strategies were tossed about, but no one had a definite plan to reach the magically barrier of 20,000 calories. After many tears and stomach-churning moments, we realized that the best way to go about this whole thing was to actually cook our food with added ingredients, such as oil. Unfortunately, this was realized way too late. And I can safely say, none of us will ever attempt such a soul-searching event ever again. But to those of you that may attempt this disastrous feat, making your own food is the way to go.
On to the good stuff now: I would go into more detail into this extravaganza, but I am trying my best not to vomit right now as I think back on all of this. Besides, the entire caloric intake is still making my mind a little fuzzy right now. I can honestly feel the pain the man on Super Size Me felt. The final hour saw Team C drop out as they could digest no more. This opened up the door for Team A as Shaq D made true to his boastful predictions. Amassing an impressive 12,440 calorie total, Shaq D lead Team A to a blowout victory. Team B, which at times appeared hungry for the victory, was lead by the individual runner-up Southpaw. As mentioned earlier, the wheels completely fell off for Team C. Well, I am thinking about getting something to eat, so I will end this year and just post the results. Again, thanks for the support and ideas and sorry the results were so late.

All I can say is that I hope our coach doesn't find out....
hey dude, thanks for posting all this. very entertaining. congrats to everyone.
did yall exercise at all? it seems like running a long run before you start, and then another run 20 hours later or so would be an easy way to burn an extra 3000 calories so you can eat more.
and at least everyone broke 10K.
are these guys runners?
pictures would be great.
Everyone ran on Friday morning before the deadly challenge. However, only two attempted to run tonight. One of them nearly lost his lunch (and by lunch I mean pre-appetizer, appetizer, pre-lunch, lunch, post-lunch, pre-dessert, dessert, post-dessert, and an after dinner mint) two miles into the run and had to call it quits after a whopping total of four miles. It would have been almost impossible to run as it was hard enough to get off of the couch during the slaughter of our stomachs. And yes, we are, if I may say so myself, a very successful Division I xc team. We can't post our real names and pictures in fear of the fact that our coach may find out.
hahaha...this is the best thread in letsrun history. What a wicked idea
The Fat Man could eat two of those guys for lunch, steal all their food and polish it off before dinner. 24,000 calories is weak sauce. I also guarantee that in his prime Tom McCardle could eat 200 tacos in a day all by himself. I wish you kids understood the accomplishments of those who came before you.
we had a guy eat 50 breadsticks at fazolis and on another occasion, ate 100 chicken mcnuggets at mcdonalds.
this thread has gotten a lot of interest by our team...we are attempting to do this this coming weekend.
we'd like to know how you feel in a couple days if you can update us with that info, that'd be great
bump this up
With all due respect, and with an appreciation for the humorous contest you dreamt up, the total caloric comsumption amounted by your teammates is pathetic.
A normal sized Hershey's chocolate bar is 250 calories.
You have 24 hours to eat food.
Answer this simple question: Could you eat a normal sized Hershey's chocolate bar once every 30 minutes for 48 hours?
I think just about anyone can do that. Once every 30 minutes would be 2 per hour or 48 over the course of 24 hours. Add another 2 somewhere in there and you have 50.
Now 50 Hershey's at 250 a bar is 12,500 calories.
So right there, with almost no possible stomachache from a small candy bar every 30 minutes, 12,500 calories beats everyone on your team.
Had most of your teammates employed this method along with some DENSE calorie foods (peanut butter and nut oils being the most in this category) people could have gone WELL over 20,000 calories.
Regardless, a good read.
a good strategy someone could have tried was to make everything into a milkshake. it goes down much easier and gets digested faster as well. 10,000kcal off milkshakes with peanuts, egg nog, premium ice cream and loaded down with chocolate syrup would have been very easy.
Your team should be having some nasty poops. I recommend colonblow. www.colonblow.com . It'll clean you out. GOOD SHlT!
any updates on the after effects of the competition? how many times did you crap during the competition? did you use colonblow immediately afterwards? does your urine smell like mountain dew?
but honestly, how do you guys feel a couple of days later?
Actually, I think everyone who tried the challenge felt about as good as can be expected. One kid slept almost 19 hours afterwards, but for the most part nothing major happened. Of course you will feel bad for awhile, but by Monday everyone was back to normal. So basically, no devestating effects
By the way, all of the guys on our team are hoping that someone else gives it a shot. There is no humane way to go about this, but it was pretty fun. If I may, I will offer some points of advice:
1) Cook food with added junk such as oil and butter
2) Even though a beverage like Gatorade does not have many calories, it definately makes swallowing the food much easier
3) Have a location for all of the competitors to gather... it makes it fun having all of your teammates there and it ups the pressure to consume (besides, all of the calories can be verified)
4) Eat a lot two days for the competition, then cut back the day before
5) Go for a long run right before you start
6) EGG NOG, EGG NOG, EGG NOG
Hope you guys give it a try....

WOW! This is the same mindset that gets people into trouble playing "Hour of Power."
Believe me, come the 4th or 5th hour, those bars aren't so small and harmless.
This cannot be done. Much in the same way no one can eat 6 saltines in a minute, or 3 in 30 seconds.
Great contest, I think this guy is right on the mark though. You want to seriously step up the easy choclate consumption - hershey's is much easier than a snickers with all that other stuff.
A bottle of Nestle Quick probably has about 4-500 calories so you'd want to spread those out over the course of the day instead of soda, which fills you up more than fruit juice. All the sugar might get to you over 24 hours though. Liquid consumption is very important in a competition like this.
You should also put butter on everything.
For comparision sake, the Tsunami ate 53 1/2 hot dogs. At 240 calories each (not even counting the buns) that's over 12,000 calories in 12 minutes.
The Tsunami is not of this earth. My homeboy Brandon Collins, aka Skunkkdogg Toledo, Skunky St. Louie, and Skunkk Conn, once ate 209 shrimp scampi in one sitting at a Red Lobster.
