I live in Indianapolis and follow pro running pretty closely but had no idea there was the USATF Half Marathon championships and an American record attempt from Emily Sisson at the Indy Mini. I read various local news articles, visited the Indy Mini website to look up friends, and checked Letsrun before the weekend. The only pre-race press I could find was a little blurb by David Woods, the great writer at Indy Star that does a great job of promoting running. This to me represents a complete failure by USATF and the Indy Mini to adequately promote the event they were putting on. Not to mention USATF is based in Indianapolis and really could have easily put more attention around the event. What a shame. Also there were only 10 entries in the women's race and 20 in the men's race. Bit of a joke, USATF.
