I believe that is a sign of a heart attack.

let me clarify. i have heard of this being a symptom of both calcemia and of diabetes, both of which have a relationship with thyroid and other hormonal problems. does anyone have experience with these associations?
Is that you Ryan?
It could be many things including MS, a pinched nerve, a number of neurological ailments, circulation. If your experiencing this I would see a doctor if I were you. I've had it off and on for years. They originally thought I had MS but I think it's nerve related with me. I believe this because after a long time with no symptoms I was in a bad car accident last year and the numbness in my hands came back. After about 6 weeks with a Chiro and massage therapy it went away.

Be grateful that it wasn't MS. My Dad started out with the same stuff you described. He tried a chiropractor for it too, hoping it was just nerve interference. Unfortunately for him, it was MS. He is now completely bedridden and basically paralyzed from the neck down. Keep seeing your Chiroprator and massage therapist to keep from experiencing your symptoms. Don't wait until it gets bad.
so sorry about your father. i, too, hope it is not MS. i have seen my doctor, and she has ordered blood tests for a range of things. is this something that most doctors would recognize as being a symptom of MS? or, will i have to ask specifically to be tested?
My mom has had MS for over 10 years and she is doing great working 40 hrs a week at a job that requires a lot of standing and running around
runnr,
If your doc suspects MS she will likely do a series of neurological tests. Also and MRI of your head and spine to see if there are leisions to the myelin (spelling?) That's the outter layer of your nerves. Even if nothing shows up after that they may want to rule it out by doing a spinal tap. That's when I stopped because 1) Nothing showed up in any of the other tests. 2) All of my symptoms had gone away. 3) I never had any of the other symptoms like blurred vision, cordination, etc. Just numbness. I also went for a 2nd opinion and the doctor told me that some people can go for 20 years between symptoms and told me if I felt okay now to go back to running and see what happens. I haven't had any problems since then except the accident last year. I could be living in denial but I never really believed it was MS. Time will tell I guess.
Good luck
do you take Thalidomide?
No and never heard of it. The only thing I take is a multivitamin and fish oil. What is it Thalidomine?
