Title says it all. Cross made a nice move with 100 to go and Farah couldn't cover.

Cross wins in 28:40, Farah second in 28:44.
That's it for Farah. If he's losing in a sprint finish to good domestic elites, there's not much left for him. Maybe another go at the marathon.
But great to see McColgan smashing it once again. 30:23, just 2 seconds off Radcliffe's UK record. I can't wait for her marathon debut, she has so much potential
Cross in his return to racing?
Any day where Mo Farah loses a race is a good day to me.
Atta bay Cross you beat that drug cheater!
Farah complains at Milner for sitting behind him in the first KM, but then proceeds to do the same to Cross for the rest of the race. Shambles of a man.
I expect Farah is fitter than that (by how relaxed/smooth he looked) but was trying to go for yet another sit-and-kick, it just didn't come off this time. Good riddance.
Imagine the reaction of the Kenyans and Ethiopians right now, probably falling out of their seats laughing
How does Ellish not get injured? Looks like a train wreck. What a talent with that inefficient form as she fights a flailing body. Reminds me of Jeptoo -
The Cross triumphs
So what? Isn’t he like 40 now?
I am sure he could run 27 minutes if he really wanted.
Video of the last 30 seconds is with this article:
She doesn’t run high mileage.
She does a lot of cross training, running in the pool and some bike as a substitute for high mileage. Her long runs are fairly modest too.
Would Mo Farah make Stanford's Cross Country Travel Squad???
I hear the doorbells.
Farah done long time ago. Megadoping days are over. He’s now a sub-elite runner.
Ellis definitely has a very inefficient running form and still runs very fast at any distance what a talent.
Was that The Big 10K?
If not, I have a hard time believing that such a race took place in the UK.
Used his trademark sit-and-kick, where he fails to do any actual work – like Peter Gibbons in Office Space –, and he still failed.
The craziest decision Farah ever made was to try and reignite his track career. He moved to the marathon at the right time. He was at age when the fast finish was going to deteriorate naturally, and a new generation of guys were coming up who could sit and kick a lot better than him.
The marathon was a way to stay relevant. He ran 2:05 from the front in Chicago and definitely had a 2:04 in him. Looking at what Lough has done with Abdi and Nageeye, Farah could have been part of that. Maybe he could have been in medal shape for Tokyo. If his primary goal was the marathon, we could look at a 28:44 and shrug it off as a training race. But this was his focus and he has come up well short. The only hope he has for an elite career for a few more years is if he can re-commit tot he marathon. He could still compete for the podium at majors, maybe even win one of those with weaker fields. Would that be enough for him? Or is he still chasing that feeling he got from winning in front of a massive, raucous crowd in 2012?
completely agree, but I think the ship has sailed for him…perhaps he could muster a 60 min half / 2:06 on a flat course, but I can’t see him on the podium anywhere competitive
I also think it's likely even a good marathon is beyond him but you never know. A 2:06 can get someone on the podium at Chicago or Berlin. He was also a good XC runner so I can see him giving Boston a good go as well. But watching him struggle to 28:44 makes me think 2:06 may even be beyond him now, and I think 60:XX for HM would be a real stretch. I hope I'm wrong, I'd like to see him retire on a decent performance
