FWIW, yeah sure it’s annoying these channels but just don’t watch them. Sure it leaves little running content on YouTube that’s enjoyable but these people aren’t going to change, and don’t even see that they’re a problem

I'm just saying, why is it so hard for people to put out enjoyable content that doesn't devolve into a complete narcissistic ego-fest. Sure I've never tried it, so maybe it's a natural evolution but all of them seem to trend the same way and it's just so disappointing...

Im old enough to remember the time when if you didn't like any youtube vlogger you solved the problem by not watching it.

I have to agree with OP, seems the more they talk about "community" and their running "family" the more transparent the attempt is to keep the ducats rolling in. You tube used to be great because you had real people, being authentic. Now it seems, for some, it's all about $$$ first.

The other thing that's a little more disturbing is turning your life and your family into a Truman show. Awkward product placements mid-video, like those are normal, and being stuck in some twilight zone where you have to keep the cameras rolling because that's how the bills get paid.....Sounds like a nightmare to me. The youtube hamster wheel keeps on turning, and it's a cruel mistress

I just stop watching the ones I don't enjoy. Turns out, you can just stop. Nobody's going to be mad if you do decide you have something better to do than consume content.

It's the internet and you can scroll past any content you don't enjoy.
