Super impressive. Do you guys think Kipchoge could have done that? I'm like to find out.

Um, Kipchoge is the greatest marathoner of all time.
Kipchoge wouldn't need to
You write pretty someday

Chebet can't even hang with Kipchoge in training.
If I remember correctly, Kipchoge dropped a 4:26 final mile in London 2019 to break away from the field. And that was a 2:02 race. So yes he probably would have beaten Chebet today.
Do you think Evans could make Newbury Parks distance medley?
Kipchoge wouldn't have allowed it to come to that.
not probably. He would’ve taken apart that field.
This.
Honestly 13:55 from 35k-40k is pretty similar to Kipruto's 14:06 last year, especially given the more favorable conditions today. What's impressive is that Kipruto went 14:12 this year & Chebet put 30 seconds into him & Cherono. When you assemble fields like this, someone was going to be able to run crazy fast in the downhill closing miles. Really fun race. Wish they would have pushed the pace a little more earlier on a day like today but the racing, as always, was great down the stretch.
Rag on rojo for writing “FTW Win” or “I’m like to find out” all you want, but credit him for asking the question. Kipchoge isn’t superhuman, some day he will lose. Has he ever run a marathon as hilly as Boston? No. Has he ever raced such a deep marathon field without pacers? No. Has he ever run 13:19 for a 3 mile segment of a marathon? No (has anyone?)
He probably would have won today because he’s the GOAT and nobody would bet against him, but Chebet would have given him a race and if he’d waited around until Chebet made his move, I think he might be in trouble.
Dude, it’s a hot take.
He wouldn’t have waited around. He would’ve been gone early as seen in every marathon he has ever raced, so it’s irrelevant. I also wasn’t replying to Rojo.
Kipchoge has won the Olympic marathon twice, in rather warm and humid conditions. Easily I might add. Until EK loses multiple times (or DNFs), I would think he could win any road marathon in any way needed. What's a guy got to do to prove himself?
Right some pretty day, you!
Not to get too nitpicky, but 4:27, 4:26, 4:26 gives 13:19 for 3 miles. Add a couple of seconds for each split probably being a fraction of a second over, and you get 13:21. That puts him 173m short of 5000m. 173m at a slightly slower pace of 4:30 takes about 29 seconds.
So if those mile splits were accurate, he would have been more like 13:50 for 5K.
Eliud ran a 2:02 marathon on March 6th. Eliud would likely have not won Boston today as at his age he needs a little more time between marathons.
I'm like to find out two.
This........
I thought about the same thing during the race and knowing who Kipchoge is, he'd have taken it out shortly after the half. No one was going to hang with him.
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
