For instance I did some solo 400m repeats at 9am (pain). I was going at my mile pace but just one felt hard! Normally the first lap of the mile feels like a jog and I come through slightly under pace. It almost feels like magic. I always chalked this up to adrenaline. Then I am usually able to close my last 400 of a race faster than I do any of my 400meters at (solo or with team). Anyone else? And why exactly is this?
