I think their best guys would run around 4:10-4:15 for the mile and 9:10ish for the 3200.
I don’t think it is the training in of itself. It appears to me that they do the little things needed-nutrition, recovery-what swimmers refer to as dry land training- and they think of themselves as elite athletes. They used to say Bob Kennedy wouldn’t spit without thinking how it would affect his training, and I think they have the same mindset.

Is the point you are trying to make that more HS runners would be 4:00/8:00/13:50 guys if they trained like college athletes?
I agree with you if so.
College runners are 19+ years old while HS runners are 18 years or younger. That’s why college runners are faster.
That and the fact that college kids have yet another 1 to 3 years of training under their belt.
As to the OP, from what I've read, they do not train like college runners, let alone Pro runners. They do take it seriously, but the volume is way lower.
They are certainly not the only HS athlete's to take their sport seriously. They have a number of things in their favor: a good coach, good teammates (current and past), and talent. I'm sure there are other reasons as well.
Take any one of them out of their environment and it's hard to say what they would do. My guess is Colin would still be a 800/1600 stud. Leo and Lex would still be great at XC. Guessing times is impossible, but it would likely be slower.

Kids with that type of talent are going to be super motivated and the coach is going to know it’s a once in a career opportunity and will do his homework.

I agree with this. in fact, for a lot of schools that 937 is a once in a lifetime talent!
Cole Hocker wasn't really a superstar in high school since he trained conservatively, I'm sure Nico could've followed a similar path.

Fair. I think he's talking about times. Hocker ran 1:50, 4:07, 8:56 for 800/1600/3200 which are excellent but not historical. Though now that I see he ran 1:50 and was FL XC champ, it suggests to me his 1600 time should have been faster. Maybe he wasn't in many high quality mile fields, I don't know.

If you had thought of yourself as an elite athlete in HS, would you have run faster? If I thought I could throw a 100mph fastball, would I have made it to MLB?
The same exact times. What the heck does a normal high school coach even mean? You are implying something there.

The real question is how fast would Alan Webb have run if he was training like a pro athlete in college? +nike victories. I'm guessing 3:53 still.
i think he just means average coach. brosnan is obviously very good.
of course, as others have pointed out, it is way more than just the coach. it is the training partners, the ability to run year round, everything that comes with that. it all kind of compounds on itself to make an ideal situation.
talents like the kids at NP could very easily get swallowed up in other parts of the country, and play soccer in the fall, bball in the winter, and then get 10 weeks of track in a mediocre league and end up somewhere around 4:10-4:20 while walking over everybody they come across, and simultaneously playing in a travel soccer league to get ready for the fall.
