Never have heard either of them on a podcast and just last week they both did podcasts (two different ones). Both were really good. They both take shots at Letsrun especially Tuohy who uses an expletive when describing Letsrun.
Did anyone else listen to these, and if so, thoughts?
I went to the link. It’s over an hour long. I just don’t have the time to listen to something that long unless I’m on a long drive somewhere and don’t need to to do work calls. If I have that much free time I would rather read something.
Where are the time stamps that they called out Letsrun?
I’m glad that they did call this place out. It’s toxic AF…
I listened to it, and I thought it was great and well deserved. I always thought the "pressure" that stressed her out before her last NXN was at least partly from this site, and that there have been many times that discussion about her has been inappropriate or even downright cruel. She was just a high school girl at the time, who happened to be exceptional at a sport. She didn't seek out fame, and some of the crap that got said on here was pretty horrible (not to mention it has turned out to be flat wrong). I am glad she had the support and clarity to tune this out enough to move forward in running and continue to succeed.
I agree. Pretty sad to hear she almost quit running her junior year due to the pressure (a lot from this website unfortunately). Nico definitely dealt with this a lot better and said Lex and Leo do a great job of filtering it out which was great to hear.
One of the quotes from Katelyn was what sounded like "F**k Letsrun" (it was hard to hear from bad audio quality, but that's what it sounded like) after the host first mentioned letsrun
So funny to read people hating on Letsrun as they read and post on Letsrun. You probably should never come to this site if it’s so bad and “toxic af” as you say.

Perhaps negative comments about high schoolers should not be made
I don't think she said was almost quit. She said that the attention and the pressure in high school became a bit much and that her mother told her she could always quit if she wanted to. From what I recall Young was only in the limelight his senior year. But also in this sport the way top high school distance runners are perceived is different. No one really talks about male runners burning out and regressing or some magic biological clock striking midnight on their potential. Meanwhile on the female side one bad race or a few races without a PR and it is gloom and doom.

there is a line you shouldn't cross, but you can't eliminate criticism. High schoolers are at an age where they need to learn life long lessons about a lot of very important stuff. filtering out noise is one of those things.
This place is fine. Most people should not seek out anonymous discussions about themselves. It's just not healthy. Self-awareness is important.
if you are looking for something that is going to be 100% rah rah, don't go further than your local newspaper
I'll agree with some of what you say - kids should not seek out anonymous discussions about themselves and that self-awareness is important. However, do you think that it is, in your words "fine," to make negative comments about 14, 15, & 16 year old kids? Yeah, you probably do, because you're probably one of the incels here that is making those types of comments.
As a general rule, people should not make comments about others that they would want made about themselves. If you think otherwise, that it's ok to make comments about kids, you're demented.

Give me some comments and I will tell you what I think is acceptable and not.
the type of comments that hurt these athletes as much as anything is something like: they are likely overtraining in high school, and will peak early. athlete x will have a better college and or pro career than them.
As stupid as many of these comments are, I don't think you can or should stop people from making comments like this, whether you like them or not. I draw the line at personal attacks.
