After listening, Tuohy seems a really really good kid and a teammate, its amazing how grounded she is despite her fame at such a young kid, and she still gets so much attention and she seems to be the same grounded hard-worker kid who just wants to run.
Such a fun and interesting podcast! To hear her stories and how she felt during all those years of media frenzy was quite sad but I am so happy for her right now that she's happier and not a "wreck" lining up in races anymore.
I just hope this isn't Katelyn's last podcast guesting because her stories and insights towards running and life is so great, she is such a good role model and I hope she realizes that there's a lot of people who love and adore her here in Letsrun.
For most Coaches, you push your athletes most of the time but for Katelyn there's a lot of pulling back situations because she will crush any workout you write and she still would want to run, train and run more. Katelyn is such a hard-working, team-oriented person and just wants to run.
Thanks. That was a nice podcast. As others have said she was just a normal high school kid. I have always been impressed with how she handled the pressure. Distance running is a very odd sport where you are going to have setbacks and strange plateaus and bad races and uneven progression. She handled the pressure very well. I liked where they were talking about winning the XC championship.
