Why is Lia Thomas on the front page of a running website?

It’s an important issue, and men claiming to be women have affected running as well. Take him to his logical conclusion, it will mean the effective end of women’s sports. So I think it’s important, and I’m glad the brothers have it on their site.

Nah this post sucks. The mass psychosis going on where large swaths of people have accepted the idea that a biological man with a penis is actually a woman and think it's okay for him to compete as a woman to the point of stealing NCAA gold medals is definitely something worth talking about. It's definitely a redflag for a societal pathology. This isn't really just about women's sports or politics - although those issues are important as well - it's much deeper, it's about us as a society keeping our sanity.

The trans debate is a small side issue in NCAA sports that is being shoved into centerstage by triggered conservatives. I do think there needs to be some clear guidelines. I don't think we are witnessing a threat to the future of women's sports.

PEDs is threat to sport. Do we feel the need to post every PED bust in other sports on our front page? No...we post PED busts in running. But for some reason we've elevated a scattering of trans athletes picking up a win here and there as red-alert code red front page news when it happens in other sports even. Clear evidence it's not about sport but more about political virtue signaling.

To be honest all this is starting to get funny. Will we ever see an all transgender 4x1 relay team, will we have a record just for that. I'm past the.....this just isn't fair.....stage of this, now it's just how crazy will this get? Can't wait to see a transgender basketballer dunking vs the girls.

Might want to brush up on your history. You seem to be a little confused about which side you would be on. It was the Nazis that were cracking down on the free and liberal social views of Germany of the Weimar Republic era. The Nazis had an entire Office for Combatting Abortion and Homosexuality.

You are wrong to say this is a new low or even a low at all. Allowing transgender women into competitive sports is a topic that is appropriate for runners, regardless of what the current sport the story is about. So, good show Letsrun.

I am 100% behind what any transgender person wants to do (within the realm of legality of course). I'm ok with them being legally listed as which ever sex (yes, sex) they want to be listed as. I am ok with them defining their gender and sexuality however they wish. I don't care what they wear or what they want me to call them. I will gladly call anyone whatever it is they want to be called.

What I won't do is support a person who was born a male who then wants to compete as a woman in a women's sport. Unfortunately there are a lot of bigots with that position who just want to deny transgender people anything, but that's my only restriction. It doesn't matter if a 22 year old takes pills to lower his testosterone. He's done growing. The advantage is already there. Completely unfair advantage.

I suppose that technically I MIGHT be ok with a transgender man competing in men's sports, but since they take testosterone to help them achieve the look they want, I suppose that would have to be closely monitored. Probably just easiest to say that the sex you were born with is the category of sports you can compete in.

I'm not saying I support it. I don't. I'm saying it seems to be about a lot more than sports when you have almost 20 transgender headlines on the front page at times. It's completely disproportionate to the perceived threat. There is zero threat to women's sports as a whole. The wheels are already turning, rules just haven't been implemented equally every where. It will happen, and soon. It's already happening. Isn't Lia already ruled out from completing according to next year's rules? There's no imaginary horde of pretend women changing gender just to score some points at NCAA nationals.

Was blade runner a threat to the future of track and field? Was there a dozen headlines on the front page at the same time about how threatening blade runner was? Was there headline articles on the front page about the threat posed by amputees in other sports? Maybe there was, but it seemed waaay more restrained than what's going on now. The message boards were heated about it for sure, but the front page coverage didn't seem like a personal vendetta like how Rojo is going about it now.

I can agree that Lia shouldn't be competing w/o agreeing with how this site making it a witch hunt and complete virtue signal theater. Based on rojo's previously expressed attitudes toward women's athletics.....I don't think it has much to do with 'saving' women's sport from the small handful of transgender athletes competing.
