Given that humans spend the first 9 months of life in a sac of fluid, swimming seems to be an activity we as a species are pretty naturally suited for and have a natural liking for. Babies and little kids love taking baths and splashing around in water. Some people think that human birth in water is easiest on newborns. Then there's this:
