Amon Kemboi ran really well at indoor nats, definitely will give them all a run for their money

Yes, bringing 7:42/13:26 prs from indoors, excellent opportunity to attempt at least a sub-13:20 (US Champs standard though he is Kenyan).

Teare & Hocker just ran 13:06 & 13:08 at Stanford a couple weeks back in less than the perfect conditions which Friday night will bring. Both are probably better at 5k than anyone in Friday's race but not by a huge amount.

Christian Noble just won the Raleigh Relays 5k in 13:24 last week following 7:50/13:37 indoor prs. He probably would be close to the leaders Friday if he was entered but would not be favored to win.

Somewhere in the middle is likely to be Friday night's winning time. Say, 13:17?

But, really hoping they take a shot at the 13:13.50 WC standard.

No Nico Young? Any word why?

He is going to pace Sahlman for a WR 5k attempt this weekend

We'll be rooting for him back at The Bush!

Man, is Young hurt again? He always seems to have a couple of injury scares every year.

Notes:

Sprout won this race last year in 13:42 which wound up being his pr until indoors last month.

Robinson was 8th in 13:51 which remained his pr until indoors last month as well.

The Stanford Invitational men's 5k record is 13:25.63 by David McNeill (Northern Arizona) from 2010.

He's not hurt. You guys are crazy to jump to conclusions. Coach Smith has big plans and Stanford was not apart of that plan.

Are you kidding me? Both those boys ran a time trial in less than optimal conditions, with a total of 4 people in the field of whom 2 were pacing. Let me correct this specific sentence: "Both are probably better at 5k than anyone in Friday's race but not by a huge amount, rather a FU^^ING HUGE amount! These dudes are on a completely different level.
