Of course they won’t and then you will never bump this thread. They are a great story. The story of the tournament. However they barely beat a not great Purdue team. They cannot win the tournament.

Their chances are surely very low, but your absolute certainty is a little silly too. My dad completely laughed off their chances of beating Murray St., and then again Purdue, after they’d already beaten #2 seed Kentucky.
I’m sure they’ve gotten lucky so far (as in, in 7 game series versus Kentucky or Purdue they’d probably lose), but they definitely have momentum on their side and they only have to get lucky 3 more times and they’re national champions. It doesn’t hurt that their elite 8 matchup is against a #8 seed (though I’m sure UNC deserves better than that at this point).
Fact is nobody knows what will happen. Sure, Kansas/Villanova/Duke should be slightly favored, but only 3 of the top 12 seeded teams made the elite 8 so obviously seeding only counts for so much.
The majority of the country will be rooting for little old St. Peter’s. At this point, my order of cheering will go nearly in inverse order of the seeds: #15 St. Peter’s, #10 Miami, #5 Houston, #4 Arkansas, #8 UNC, #2 Duke, #2 Villanova, #1 Kansas.

You usually make sense JWH but here not so much. You take issue with my absolute certainty but not the OPs. Of course they won’t win the tournament. Of course you will root for them. Me too.

Oh don’t get me wrong, the OP’s absolute certainty, which I don’t actually believe, is extremely silly too.
Right but the OPs absolute certainty is much sillier than mine. Nobody in their right mind would pick Saint Peter’s to win it at all, even at this point, if the other side has the field. You see I have the field, and I am quite certain that the field will win. Of course if I uttered something slightly wishy washy like I am very close to certain that SPs will not win, it would be more accurate but this is a message board where I was returning serve to a prediction of certitude with an equally forceful assertion. I will be proven correct after all. The smart money is on the field. Naturally.

Fine. Naturally. Almost like it goes without saying.

Maybe Purdue is "not great" but they were ranked #1 in the country for much of the season.Purdue struggled against them for the entire game. This didn't look like luck for St Peters. They probably won't win it all but there's a chance.

Purdue finished 29-8. They were 16-1 at home and 8-2 on neutral sites but just 5-5 on the road. They were not a great team by any means. They were a great team at home I guess but certainly not overall.
I do admire St. Peters for what they have accomplished. It definitely would be a miracle if they won it all but I don't think they get past the elite 8. Purdue was a good team but even though they were ranked #1 at one point, are limited in what they can do. Their bigs are not very good-tall and take up space. St. Peters has more players that can function anywhere on the court and be productive. Great run.

Kentucky and Purdue were very flawed teams. UNC has more weapons which need to be stopped. I'm not taking the field against St Peter's I'm taking UNC. Smart money is on UNC.

They literally said the same thing about Purdue. That St. Petes got lucky. It was a fluke. Purdue will end them because they make foul shots. It didn't happen. It's not a fluke anymore. St Petes is real and UNC should be quaking in their tar covered heels. St Petes will lose however to Duke because every Duke game is Duke and the zebras vs the "unlucky" opponent.

Only ten road games out of 37 played?
How did they manage that?
They played a few cupcake teams at home early in the season. Big 10 and other tournament games count as "neutral site"
They do have a sluggers shot at it, they are good and do deserve this kind of respect. No way can I go with.......oh no no that can't happen. I do doubt it but that's it.

Nobody who knows a lot about basketball ever said Team X always wins because of a ref conspiracy. You are a devoted fan but your knowledge of the actual game has to be quite limited. Or, you are trolling.
SP is playing with extreme confidence. I think they believe they will win every game. They play with no fear. I think they hate this “Cinderella” label. They are insulted by it and they are on a mission to kick all our butts. They have good D and guards who can create shots. They hit free throws. They are dangerous still.
Wrong. It's very obvious that things are being setup to give big K one last title. This happens in sports a lot with big names retiring and magically getting a last championship. Also, since UNC was able to beat Baylor they were locked in to face Duke in the final four. The paths were set once that result occurred. St Peters was allowed to win to make that easier.
