This dude is 50 and looks immortal. There is something to learn him. Doesn’t do any running since his prefontaine days. Just climbs mountains and a vegan diet.
what’s the secret to look like this guy at 50 years old?
Turning 50, with successful careers in acting, music, and tech investing—and with his eye on El Capitan— the maxihyphenate Jared Leto, star of Morbius and WeCrashed, is learning the value of a rest day.
think about your ancestors. If you are a normal white dude your ancestors didn’t have access to fruit outside of some berries and maybe some apples that are nowhere as sweet as the apples of today. even then it was seasonal. we’re talking thousands if not 200,000 years of evolution.
Nobody was eating super sweet tropical fruit year round, if at all.
sugar is behind inflammation
inflammation is behind everything bad.
I’m no doctor or scientist but I’ve read a ton about this my whole life and I’ve come to the conclusion that meat and veg is the healthiest way to go.
junk food vegans are the least healthy people. and most vegans are junk food vegans. some eat clean, but even then I believe humans need animal products to optimize health. protein and fat. unprocessed as possible.
He has good hair, probably genetic. Thinning/balding makes you look older than your years.
Yes, plus it's likely colored. In addition to good hair he has a youthful hairstyle. If he had thinning, graying hair and a nerdy middle-age haircut, he would look older for sure.
That said, he obviously has a genetic disposition for a youthful look and he takes care of himself. He eats right it appears, exercises and likely leads a low stress life. No kids, no wife. That sh.it adds up.
Good for him. There is a very high level of correlation between a large dad-gut and serious health issues / shorter life expectancy. (stating the obvious). My point is that looks are more than superficial aesthetics . They indicate health. They also reveal discipline.

He is a method actor so I’m sure that does come with it own stresses and being on movie sets for 16hr days. But I agree on the no wife and kids aspect. He just plays music, acts, and rock climbs. Not a bad life at all for a 50 year old.
he was incredible in Dallas buyers club and Requiem for a dream
Some people such as comedian George Burns said he lived a long time because he smoked and did not listen to doctors. However, I am sure he probably smoked moderately. Also when it comes to genetica, you may live a long time because your parents, grandparents, great-grandparents ( etc) did. But sometimes a person lives long because of genetics, but does not live a healthy and happy life. My dad apparently had some genetic thing going regarding his age. He lived to be 77 even though he smoked excessively since he was 13. However 15 minutes rarely went by before he would cough violently until his head was as red as a beet. He could not lift his leg to step up the step of a staircase without nearly passing out because of getting short of breath.
I know a lot of kids in the younger generation would call this “sus,” but not one shirtless pic? How can I guy look like “a God” when he has every inch of his skin covered aside from his elbows down?

Let's compare working days of an actor vs an office monkey like me or you.
52 weeks - 4 weeks vacation = 48 weeks of work x 40 hours at least = 1,920 hours minimum
Leto ain't working half of those hours in a given year.
And good on him, by the way. Take that all day long if you can get it.

Unlikely he dyes his hair. His facial hair is also not gray. Doesn't fit who he seems to be. Some men just don't gray for a really long time. I'm 61 and have no gray hairat all. The only gray I have is in my facial hair. Genetics. My Dad still doesn't have all gray hair at 84. Unfortunately, I didn't inherit any running talent and I'm short. Oh well ...

I'll buy that he might not have any gray hair. Many don't at 50. But if you scroll photos he obviously colors / highlights his hair at times. Sometimes crazy ass colors, etc. But that's not the point you are making. I understand that.
jaysus actors are literally paid millions and have nothing other to do than tend to their appearance. The plastic surgery, the chemicals, the drugs that actors take to look young would shock most people. It's their job. They take whatever drug they have to in order to get the next job. Nothing illegal or wrong with it - it's fine. But don't compare yourself to a professional good looking person.

Lol of COURSE he dyes his hair, and likely his beard. Also, he probably gets keratin treatments and all sorts of treatments to make his hair so silky smooth.
To tie this back into running, the secret is that there is no secret.
1. naturally good looking guy (I had a huge crush on him when he was in my so-called life...)
2. takes reasonably good care of himself. sleeps well, eats decently, goes to the gym, probably doesnt get wasted too much, etc.
3. spends LOTS of money and time making sure he stays good looking including all the best hair and skin treatments and maybe plastic surgery too.

First, good for him in taking care of himself. That said, my guess is that there's a little Botox and hair coloring involved.
