The US Senate passed Marco Rubio's bill unanimously today. The House is up next, but expected to pass easily.
The 1970's horror of stay at home mom's hating having to wake up in the dark to get their kids ready for school. Most mom's have jobs these days and go to work in the dark with, or without a time change.
Pleasantly surprised! Kind of shocked that Sen. Ron Johnson didn't filibuster it for being confusing to Wisconsin's dairy herds or Sen. Rand Paul stopping it for being government overreach.
Daylight Saving Time.
Don't want to be the grammar police
I'm all about some year round DST but Congress should be working on and passing more important things.
Too dark to run before work/taking kids to school already by late October, and I have to stay late at work until it is cool enough to go home four more months. On the upside, it will be cooler and shadier on the run to work for those four months than now. But passing the Senate is just one step in the process.

Great for coaching high schools. Don’t have to worry about parents complaining about being out in the dark.
School start times are a local issue decided by school boards, which are usually elected. They tend to vary greatly depending on the local community. It never made any sense to pass a state or federal law to try and "fix" a local issue.
Pumped to do all my AM runs in the dark from October to April.
I wonder how many high school baseball games will be called due to darkness when the school does not have lights.
If DST becomes year-round, then isn't that just redefining standard time?
Shouldn't the time be based on setting noon when the sun hits apex during the day?
I am glad the Senate has nothing better to do.
Some people hated it then. Some of us loved it and wished they'd made it permanent.
As a morning person, I am not a supporter. However, I agree that Congress should concentrate on more important things.
The sun doesn't hit an apex. It just stays where it is. We move around it.
Dang. Looks like the night people have finally won a permanent victory over the morning people. Not excited about doing every workout in complete darkness from October to March.
Daylight Time, Standard Time, makes me no nevermind, just pick one and stick with it.
