Great race for her after so many posters doubted her saying she peaked in December. But she proved that she is the class of the field. Congratulations to the best runner and best coach in the NCAA. Well deserved for two great ladies.
I like Wayment a lot as a runner. She’s an amazing talent. She also seems like she’s a good person. She graduated from high school in 2016. This upcoming August she’ll be 24 years old.
Katelyn Tuohy is also a great talent and a good person. She graduated from high school in 2020. Next week she’ll be 20 years old.
Do you honestly believe that Katelyn Tuohy won’t surpass Courtney Wayment’s times by the time she is Wayment’s age?
Everyone develops at different rates. Congratulations to Wayment but why is it necessary to bag on Tuohy. You must feel threatened by her in some way. It makes you a big he-man keyboard warrior to bag on a 19 year old girl…SMH 🙄
The odds are against her. The majority of high level females do not improve. There are hundreds of examples that I am sure you are aware of. Wayment improved significantly after high school while Tuohy has not.
That's funny. She did not start running track until Dec 2014. You must really dislike her for some reason.
He’s a he-man keyboard warrioring Tuohy hater 😂
I think he was just taking a cue from all the BYU haters. He was being defensive of Wayment and sarcastic about Tuohy. No one thought he was serious and it was kinda funny. Tuohy is tough!
You should read the post I responded to saying Wayment went to HS with his mom, insinuating that she is 35. But no, Tuohy's name requires only absolutes while everything else is fair game for falsehoods and opinions.

Those people are wrong to cast shade on Wayment and her age. The talk about Conner Mantz being in Depends and having kids in high school also gets old. Methinks, though, that it is only a few posters that are saying that. The voices of those few make it seem like a lot of people are bagging on Wayment and the other BYU runners. It not like Crow-Magnon (sic) Man said about "all the BYU haters."
I've never had an issue with the BYU runners and what they do with mission work and all of that. As a matter of fact, their "advantge" is vastly overstated. One of their current runners is from our community and I competed against his older brother, who also attended BYU. He's a great kid and has developed nicely and is now running a 3:55 mile. If not for an injury this season he would have probably been running this weekend.
Anyway, you're attacking Tuohy. Why the hate? Attack the poster. You bagging on a 19 year old kid says a lot about you as a person. You're more than likely a middle-aged guy. It's a bad look for you.
How so? I thought I was pretty much fact based but I guess it could be taken that way. The data is there to support that Wayment is on a path similar to Schweizer. Tuohy is the 2nd best runner in the NCAA but has barely improved which is indicative of only minor improvement in the future. Science uses past data to predict future outcomes. I could be wrong because nothing is 100% in running. Cranny was pretty Flatbush made huge improvements after college. Effraimson was elite HS and stayed at the same level.
Also, Way Ahead, if you really want to make this about Wayment vs Tuohy, compare Wayment's times from when she was 19 years old to Tuohy's times now. personally I have no interest to go there because both are talented and both deserve praise. You, on the other hand, want to lessen Tuohy's accomplishments.
Keep in mind that Tuohy is still a teenager and that Wayment is nearly 4 years her senior. Touhy has had multiple injuries and she did have a bout of Covid. She has recovered nicely and is doing well. She is tracking how she should be. My guess is that she will better Wayment's times over the next few years.

The only thing that’s certain is how uncertain it all is. We all do a terrible job of predicting the ceiling of these athletes and then of course, there’s the unpredictability of injuries and the capacity of them being able to withstand and sustain the training needed to approach the ceiling. What I don’t understand and find sad is why all the negativity around Tuohy? I mean, did she do something to offend all of these mean spirited posters? What a bunch of jerks. Yes, we have no idea yet if Tuohy will become a Cranny, but might as well root for her than against her. Maybe Tuohy will graduate, go run with Jerry and be able to handle it and she’ll continue to level up like Cranny and Fisher. I hope so.

lol @ being on the same path as schweizer. She and schweizer are practically the same age!
2 years apart. Tuohy will be 20 in a few days. May as well post next week that she and Wayment are almost same age at 20 and 23. I do believe that 18 is the age of maturation. Training can result in improvement but weight gain is natural if any injury occurs.

She has not barely improved…running a see-saw 15:30 PB involving lots of changes in pace, jockeying in the pack and a kick indicates she can go quite a bit faster. 1st and 3rd have run around 15:15. Tuohy showed that sort of fitness yesterday. And that’s on what sounds like about 6 or 7 weeks of training.

2 years apart vs 4 years apart. not the same. especially at those ages.
now check back on the kind of times schweizer was running 2 years ago when she was Wayment's current age.
