Why was NC State DQ'd?
Why was NC State DQ'd?
7.5-3a Impeding
Anyone see what happened?
There was a big collision by Bush I think after she handed off. I recorded the race, I will have to look at it.
That sucks. Initially I thought they finished 7th which would have AA'd.
I didn’t see it. What does “great recovery” mean? Bad start?
Flinched and as a result was out of the blocks way slower than everyone else.
Bush handed off and then stayed in her lane and stopped and the VT girl ran into her. At least that is what I see.
I just watched it. Bush handed off and then took a moment too long to clear and the VT runner was coming down at an angle from a higher lane. That's too bad. Maybe some inexperience. It happens.
Why do they take 16 milers and run a race to eliminate 6? So stupid. Either just take 10 and run a final, or take more and have a legitimate prelim that serves a legitimate purpose.
that seems tough when she didnt change her position...if she drops inside there are runners there too...
Yep. She did not change her lane but she took maybe an extra step forward. The VT runner definitely came down but I think the VT runner had the right of way.
Every year. Someone should coach these athletes.
I have no clue why Wayment is still in the ncaa. Should’ve gone pro last year. She was good enough. A 6th year beating a true sophomore. She is 23 tho so not too bad
Sam Bush screwed up Virginia Tech. If i was their roster i would be pissed at her. Literally stood in the middle of the track after she handed off and got ran over
I watched it again. Bush hands off, takes several steps but is still well short of the finish line, looks over her right shoulder and the VT girl has taken the baton and started cutting in without even looking at what was ahead of her. Bush sees what is going to happen and starts to turn inside and bang. I guess if she had looked left and immediately turned that way it would have worked out. But the VT girl bears no responsibility for not looking at what was ahead of her?
You were right!
And of course Godwin did not show up to compete either - poor dude, but still has the 4x4. Boling impressed majorly in the 60 and could produce in the final of that and the 200 and he and Godwin can both run slightly better in the 4x4 than they did at SECs. Also, shout out to Jonathan Jones -a 44.4 400 guy - qualifying into the 800 final. If he wins the 800, I believe he'll have the fastest at-the-time 400 FAT 400 PR of anyone to ever win the 800
Looks like it was his second open 800 ever according to tfrrs
Nuguse ran terrible splits in his 1600 leg. He is talented but makes some silly mistakes like stepping on the rail in ACC.
