I don't see this . What I saw was a tight knit team supporting each other last night . Especially , those that had a rough outing . Shalane had her record broken , she was the first to give hugs . This is a "team " .
Yes . I also agree with the decision on indoor avoidance . Focus on the sport , which is outdoor 400m racing . I don't see the NFL saying , we need NFL arena football in the off season .
This is just the beginning of the story. What makes them successful? Can other clubs do the same things and have the same success? Are they good because they are better funded?
Just saying they are the best, barely begins to describe the story.
They are like the New York Yankees of our sport. On top of that, they theoretically get 5 of the first 10 picks of the “draft”. They have the most resources (monetary and facility-wise) out of all the clubs, the most athletes, been around for a long time, and thus, able to attract the best talent. I mean, what team has the funds to fly Kara and Elise to Park City, in the middle of the olympic trials, and then fly them back?
In many ways, it should be expected. But props for executing when it counts.

I love what BTC is doing- exciting athletes, actual personable people.
They do chafe some people with the mystery of when and where and who they will race, but when they race, they race; the same cannot be said of other groups.
Poopgate isn't helping their cause though. An elite level training group has to resort to dropping the Browns off at the superbowl behind a high school track? Tough look but desperate times call for desperate measures. We've all been there
You can tell the BTC team mates care about each other . They had some disappointments, but those athletes didn't sulk and stew like Elle did at the Indoors.
There's no massive cloud of smoke. When they started bringing in the more sensitive drug tests, you started getting numerous ingestion-related (or possibly ingestion-related) doping positives. They need to re-set the positive threshold to levels that have major biological impact.
Totally agree that Kiphoge's NN group, with Kamworor and others, is far better than BTC. when you consider training groups and their success worldwide.
How many runners in BTC have set World Records? How many global medals have BTC runners won? How many World XC races have BTC won? (or even attended...) How many other big major international races have BTC runners won?
The best training group in the world and it doesn't have a single global gold medal at any distance (Centro wasn't BTC when he won gold). NOP was the greatest by far
