I guessed at a 26:30 something time a few days ago. When I heard they were going out at AR pace I had a good feeling he would negative split the race. What an incredible race. Congrats Grant!! I am from Davison a few miles from his hometown of Grand Blanc. Now time to focus on the trials!!
Prior to cheat shoes can barely break 13:30. Might as well have been run on a rotating track. Without the shoes doesn’t break 27:00.
WTF with all the excuses about why a great run is ng??? So sick of the idiots whining about shoes and outright slandering these people about drugs with no evidence.

Evidence isn't needed. It's a given in professional sport now.

I wouldn’t say having a team popped for drugs and another on the likely doping list is no evidence. But I get your point.
Awesome! 7th all time. And so yeah, this kind of proves outdoor is still faster than BU on a good day. Still sub 26:40 with Matumbos but greater chance of injury.
You are right, the drugs are only worth about 30 seconds or so and the shoes another 30. 20+ years ago before these drugs and super shoes Grant is a 27:30 guy at best.
You are right but 20 years ago with monster levels of EPO, Bekele achieved a 26:17, but without that, he was really just a 28:45 runner. Meaning Fisher is still faster than the man claimed to be goat.
All jokes aside, the way this guy is changing pace with 1600m to go just isn’t natural. That would never be a natural thing even for Kenyan/Ethiopians. There’s no struggle, it reminds me exactly of Shelby houlihan in the later stages of her 1500. And look at how she destroyed the 5k AR. Something is fishy with this group.

Oh, I get it...Something "Fishy"! I thought you said all jokes aside???
