I noticed this in the Women's B race, but confirmed by the A race. Cranny BEAT the wave light BUT still was short of the AR. Seems like a huge deal and self defeating for the tech if the meet organizers don't have it calibrated correctly.

Already discussed on the main thread.
I'm aware, but this topic will be discussed outside of tonight, so its easier to devote a second thread to it instead of it hogging the meet discussion thread while Grant goes for the AR
The lights are working fine, they were set to 31:50 and 30:16. Blame the meet organizers for setting them to a slower pace than needed.
There’s no discussion to be had: the wavelights worked just as advertised, as discussed elsewhere on this board and online for this meet. your complaint is with the selection of paces, and I’m sure you can let the coaches and meet organizers know.
You know what else works? A watch.
It was hilarious to see Flanagan and the woman shadowing her in their coaching costumes (complete with stopwatches) celebrate wildly despite Cranny missing the record.
Why 30:16?
because that is what Jerry asked for. Ask Jerry not meet management why?
Why 31:50?
because no one in the field had ever broken 32:00. The entire field was told prior to the race as well as in all instructions prior to the race that THE LIGHTS WERE SET AT 31:50.
Wavelight is stupid.
So, he wanted 30:13.66 or less, and asked for 30:16.00?
Pretty dumb to assume that she would outkick the lights by 2.5 seconds or more when even Flanagan and others didn't seem to know thaw was necessary.
I'm not upset at all. This is the sketchiest group in American running, by far.
Typo, Jerry wanted 30:13.13 and asked for 30:16.00 by the lights. Even dumber.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
