Should I ask my buddy for specific details about the team/teammates/coach? Quiz him on some ‘Nova’ running trivia and catch him in his lie?

What to do after he knows he’s been exposed? Play him a song on the world’s smallest violin?

Why does it matter? I’m not claiming any PR’s that aren’t mine. Who cares if I’m slow or fast? We’re trying to out this guy because he’s a LIAR and IMPOSTER.

I think the more bizarre thing is you started a thread about it. Did he steal your boyfriend or something? Prize money? Any evidence of cheating or being a dirtbag?

Have you ever been to letsrun? I’ve seen wayyyy more bizarre threads on this site. It comes down to morals and if you know someone has lied to you, do you want them around people you associate with?

Something tells me you’re the 4:40 guy asking for advice on how to handle being outed by your new training group. Absolutely pathetic

Working in several running stores I heard my share of lies. In the end, all that matters is gold, silver and bronze. Everyone else is a spectator.

The culprits are in an overlap of sub types like 1) the mentally handicapped who truly do not know what they are talking about, 2) those who lack a deep knowledge of the subject matter and therefore misconstrue all input/output, or, 3) a compulsive liar who willingly and knowingly deceives others. Emphasis on overlap between the sub types.

Ask yourself what do you gain from exposing this liar? What do you gain from not? Either way you possess the knowledge now of what is the actual truth. You could just be happy with that. However, if you chose to expose the liar would those actions not serve some unrecognized vengeant needs on your part?

I think that is also a problem.

Maybe the better question is why you have those vengeant needs?
