Donavan Brazier who was DQd in the 400 yesterday for apparently running out of his lane and yesterday had his appeal denied, today has been reinstated by USATF into the 400m final.
Jonathan Gault is writing something up on this.
No footage or photos were provided by USATF on the DQ or reinstatement. The TV broadcast was left guessing that he was DQd for running on the outside of his lane.
Our sport needs to change its rules. If someone is DQd, it needs to be handled within 5 minutes of the end of a race. Maybe 2 minutes. This isn't that hard. Every other sport in the world operates this way. The footage needs to be shared with the public as well.
He either violated the rule and should be DQd or he didn't. I don't see how this could possibly take nearly 20 hours to figure out.
