You need to post a pic and let us judge. Seriously
The app is still very popular and people are still dating.
Is it:
a) Your pics? (Level of physical attractiveness)
b) Your bio? (Shows personality)
c) Your stats? (Age/weight/height/location)
Watch "The Tinder Swindler" on Netflix. All you have to do is be good looking and extraordinarily wealthy, bro. Not that hard.
Does your profile picture show you standing in stream holding a fish that you caught?
Just need to swipe at girls at your level of attractiveness and not 4 levels up..
You have to pay the monthly subscription fee to get any matches. It's rigged for whoever pays more to have people view their profile. No pay equals no matches. Pay equals matches.

this. even shrek found the one for him
I'm on, just joined. I matched with someone tonight and asked them out. He confessed that he was a trans girl and I unmatched. I went to Outback Steakhouse and got a little drunk at the bar by myself then.
More truth to this than you know. Likes, or matches are saved until paid status expires. User can't see match until they pay for another month.

This is a big factor. Your average girl matches with approximately 10% of people they see. So if 100 men in your area pay for the subscription, then at the front of their queue will be 100 men, of which they'll match with 10 or more. No reason for them to keep going beyond that.
But also, photo quality is a major factor. A professional-quality photo of me at the end of a local half marathon that I ran for charity made such a huge difference. It was the difference between getting one match from, say, 200 girls. And generally always 5/10s or below to getting 3 or 4 matches from 100 girls, and with high quality girls. (Good looking, sporty, smart).
Steve The Addict has been downvoted (please get rid of that feature) but he is correct. The algorithm will be rigged to make the app as much money as possible.
Online dating doesn't work. Period. Women use it mostly for attention. No woman worth her salt is going to tell friends and family that she met her husband on tinder.
Not only is online dating a sausage fest, but it is full of the wrong type of people...
You'll have better luck at the local supermarket.
Just make sure its a decent one. Wegmans, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods. Stay wayyyy the hell away from "lower end" ones like Food Lion
Dating in the 2020s is rigged against non-chad men. Period.
Online dating is this on steroids.

That could have been so f'ing hot - you likely missed out on the best night of your life. Can't believe you backed out after that.
Rule 1 and Rule 2....
I hear there are tons of guys on the app. That would make women more selective.
Outside of that, it could be that you are a minority living in an overwhelmingly white market, you're ugly, or you aren't putting your best foot forward.
You're ugly.

Dating apps are fairly popular among my med school classmates since we don't have much free time to socialize and meet new people. All my friends who have used apps have had success ranging from getting a few dates to finding someone to marry.
Results may vary by age and location, but at least for the youngish crowd in a major city, dating apps seem to work.
