Your typical U.S. sophomore will turn 16 by June of that year, and the U.S. sophomore class record is at best 4:01 by Rheinhardt Harrison just before his junior year. If that doesn't count because it was in August, I think, or late July, then it might be more like 4:06 (Ryun, then Webb, then maybe Bobby Lockhart? had it). 3:46 is worth about 4:04. This is a very good performance if the age is right.

Why would you compare an Aussie with American times. Better to compare with Kenyan or Norwegian.
So another great white hope for the landslide of Africa? When the weatherman say thunder in Newcastle, do the people in Mombasa take their umbrellas? Keep your Keely Hodgkinsons and Max Burgins, Aouita said in 92 that El G is greatest ever.

No! Sebby, Crammy and Stevie are the best ever! Jakob is now their heir. If Jakob runs 3:25 he will do it clean even though I have said that no one could run under Crammy, Sebby, Stevie, Nicky's times clean. Ever!

Doped Aouita said a doped El Guerrouj in the 1990s doping era was the greatest ever? #Whodathunkit?

lol you sound pretty angry short man, everything ok at home ?
Jacob Burcham ran this time at the same age. Yeah it is a great time but I think the Newberry Park guys are a bit more impressive. Also he wasn’t first so quite a few boys roughly the same age running a bit faster at that time.
