Static stretches over so short time is more of a muscle relaxation than a true stretch, imo.
Obviously he also did a dynamic warmup.
ALL pre-race stretching is pointless headgames.
Whatever makes a runner fee good is equally fine.
I agree. My pre race warmup was just a 15 minute jog and strides every 2 ish minutes until the race started. Had my best races with this routine. Never failed me. Was a servant to an elaborate warmup routine first two years in college. Dropped it, made my life easier and my performance never suffered.
