Great, so now he can be an official within or USA team coach c/o Nike-controlled USATF, much like Dennis Mitchell.

Add the best second leg on a 4x1 we have seen, And he has another list like that one at 200m.
When talking the USA 100m Mount Rushmore
Bob Hayes
Carl Lewis
Justin Gatlin
?
He was a doper. That's the only part that matters. His career will always be tainted, and he wouldn't ever come clean about it.
His longevity and perseverance was inspiring.
Despite the doping, I always liked him. Found him charismatic and was impressed that he kept after it so late into life.
He’s a drug cheat and I’m glad he’s finally out of the sport.
he shouldnt have ducked asafa powell for those two races in a row. nike was pissed and thats when they stopped covering up for his failed test. for those of you who are naive about it, it was 2006 season. he ran a fast time i believe in april or so at a meet in kansas, then tied the WR in may, with nike pumped to setting up a rivalry with powell. he first ducked him at pre and ran in a different heat, then he was a no show for two meets in a row one in gateshead, and the next one in london....nike was like "f*ck this little bast*rd, he is glowing so hot right now and we are letting him be the next carol lewis"this is how nike owns athletes and those "phantom injuries" for a secret ban, or if you blow it like gatlin did then you get the wrath. your running fast and they want a showdown, you better run or get the gatlin.
honestly who gives even a hair of a care about this clown? Not only was he caught multiple times cheating, he lied through his teeth his entire career, had a poor antagonistic attitude with the press about his relationships with other tainted people, cheated other athletes out of endorsements, medals, money, status, and as someone to look up to from the public he is a fraud and pariah. In any other profession he would have been fired, sued, likely jailed, and blacklisted in his profession. But here people say “what a champion with such longevity”. Hahahaha. Yes drugs will give you plenty of longevity when you’re lucky enough not to sustain constant injuries or health issues. The problem isn’t even the drugs because we know others do it. It’s the lying, manipulating, and cheating others out of the truth to keep up the lies. Making everyone else out to be bitter, jealous, irrational. Thus painting the Gatlin’s of the world as victims. What a joke. Good riddance. Don’t celebrate these people who taint our sport. They are the most prime reason we remain niche and don’t get the public to care about our sport en masse when we know they gladly participate in it in droves.
same. Doping or not I've always been a fan
I thought he already retired?
Apparently at the world class level every sprinters is dirty so what is the big deal about that?
Gatlin is the greatest USA sprinter we have seen and deserves the proper props, he will get them from me a guy who was doing speed in high school football.
Because it’s not the drugs, it’s the lying and manipulation around it that taints our sport and is why people en masse don’t care to watch and support what we do. Our sport is raw performance, possibly more than any other. So the connection towards what cheating that means is also more direct. Thus when someone like Gatlin displays such narcissism and contempt for critique over such a long period after being caught, cat totally out of the bag, multiple times, is why this reeks. I would hope that instead of lifting up those who we know have done everything they could to stay in the sun at the expense of everyone else, we chose to recognize those who have a much better story of integrity and longevity. Then perhaps our sport will be able to better repair its reputation
Fixed.
everyone that is criticizing this guy for doping....how do enjoy ANYONE else as an elite sprinter? Do you honestly think the rest of the 100m elite crew is clean?
You are either a confirmed doper, or you haven't been caught yet (at that level).
So we ignore his accomplishments? He is not one of the greatest sprinters of all time? So we are suppose to do what with Justin Gatlin?
Don't you have some 60's to work out the basic?
