Is Cheserek plagued by injuries? It seems like he's found very little success (to his standards) at the pro level?

Am also curious. Was an awesome athlete to follow at Oregon. Wish he was able to get his citizenship easier
You mean the the same guy that won his first half marathon last fall in 60:31 then two weeks later won Cooper River Bridge Run? The same guy that is racing Agnes Tirop xc tomorrow and engaged to the cutie Sharon?
I think most people who saw him win 17 NCAA titles would have guessed that he would have had some major wins on the track 4 years into his pro career
It would have been nice if Phil Knight might have given him a contract and helped fast track his citizenship, after filling Oregon's trophy case with hardware,
Cheserek has been in this country for more than 12 years, its a real shame no one helped him with this stuff, starting with HS. Everyone has profited off of Cheserek, more than he has from his own running.
It is very odd that Ches hasn't gotten citizenship yet. What's the full story here? Why so long?
Ches, is now 28!! His days for Pring are waning.
He has run 3:49.44 Indoors
7:38.x
13:04
27:23
It is beyond odd, that he has not been pushed forward by now for citizenship, if they will not or can not do it, it is also kind of amazing, that whatever Visa he had , has not expired?
Last year he was focused on Tokyo and ran 28:10 and 28:00 in Nairobi in the Spring, but missed the Kenyan team. 61min half in the fall.
13:09 and 27:23 the year before.
Hasn't exactly transitioned into a world-beater, but he's far from a slouch.
You can rent his house in Flagstaff through AirBnB if you want to really want to walk in the King's shoes.

I assume he has a green card which is valid for 10 years and there is no limit how many times it can be renewed. But there is no reason why a citizenship application should take more than a few years, especially if he has a decent immigration lawyer.
I presume your are right...People will say it is on him...
But...this process should have started under the watch of others over a decade ago, even if he was unfamiliar with process.
There is almost no excuse for St, Benny's in NJ
or even worse Oregon and the powerful powerful clout of Phil Knight did not fast track this thru

People are granted citizenship every week that are not well-connected elite athletes. And it doesn't take them 10 years.
But really, no one here knows when he started the application process or if there are other issues. It's all just speculation.

Oregon destroyed him putting him into loads of events while chasing team points.
Dude finished 3rd at the recent Dodcovery cross country in Eldoret, Kenya. Race was won by sub 27 mins 10Ker Daniel Simiu Ebenyo
He went from running decent but not spectacular times in college to running decent but not spectacular times as a pro.

Post the listing.
What happened to Chess King? I used to buy all my parachute pants from there.

Didn't Nike offer him money and he turned it down for more with sketchers?
I was wondering about Ches as well. I go back to watching Soph Ches run against the Sr Rosa brothers in HS. That was a fun era. Jim Rosa beat him at Manhattan and NXN Regionals. Then at NXN Nationals Ches finished a close 2nd to Verzbicas and Rosa blew up bad. Wasn't even top 50 if I recall.
Ches and Jenkins were fun to watch in college and now I never hear about either of them.
