PS. I didn't know this was possible. I thought there was a new World Athletics rule barring top Americans from running international xc meets in non-World XC years :)
This ain’t no 2-mile at Hayward Field, it’s an XC race in Kenya. Kamworor is a two-time World XC champion and ran 27:01 in Nairobi (5,500 ft. elevation) to win the Kenyan Trials last year, which is ridiculous. If he’s anywhere near top shape he will dismantle Chelimo by 30+ seconds.
Athletes from several countries are competing.
Chelimo will likely not even be top 5.

Agreed. Especially off his doping cycle he's pretty pedestrian. Then by the summer he runs like God. Night and day.

You could have said that before his NCAA Cross Country Championship appearances as he finished 13th and then 10th.

Chelimo will not be a factor here. He is very good at peaking for championships, but unfortunately that means he is less than stellar for the majority of the year. Would not be surprised to seem him still medal at Eugene this summer after a poor showing here.
