I know the rule states that times on TFRRS need to be converted to the type of track that the national meet will be run on, but does anyone else find the conversions strange and annoying? Since D1 and D2 Nationals are on banked tracks, all times run on flat tracks are "improved" to simulate the benefit. While D3 is run on a flat track, therefore any banked times are padded in order to slow them down. What it results in a D1 runner like Ben Flemming given a TFRRS time of 7:49 while D3 Aidan Ryan is given a TFRRS time of 8:01. Thats a 12 second swing! Even though they both actually ran a 7:55. I understand there are certainly benefits to running on banked tracks, but the way conversions are currently handled, it just seems to make D3 appear slower than it needs to be.
For all you D3 haters out there, I'm not saying D3 is faster than D1, I'm simply saying the conversions make things confusing for no reason.
