3:57 today while pacing again.
Can’t wait til he eventually lets it rip with an all out race! /s

3:57 seems like a decent performance for a full mile indoors for an 18 year old with a long season ahead of them.
Unfortunately he would have shown much more potential if he only DNFd.
You realize he's not 'ripped' anything since the Olympic Trials? For that matter, did he rip anything there? His trend isn't great at the moment.
Solid race. He looked good. Super close to a 3:55 if he put himself in it a bit more... great progress.
This isn’t a slight on him at all, but rather to the people making excuses for him after his 3:59 last week and the midnight mile where he finished behind Willis.
He’s in the same shape he was last year at this time, and likely training a lot harder now which makes me optimistic.
BUT- tons of people on here wouldn’t admit that last week was just a subpar performance from him even though Mason and him were joking about it and said as much in the VNTC vid.
Rooting for Hobbs.
Maybe. What if Alexander had dropped out at the bell with that huge lead and sort of limes away? We woukd have said he was ready for 3:51. Had Kessler gone out with Alexander and done that, it woukd havebeen more impressive than 3:57.
Limps away.

You doi realize we aren't at outdoor yet?
I suspect you're the guy who wants his dessert before the meat and potatoes.
HKL can't help that he's more talented than you.
Just watch. He's doing his thing and it will work out, or it won't.
Sport is like that

Right. Privilege requires different results. Sorry. Not. Sorry

Who cares about his finishing time, did he have a great KICK???
Silly thread. He just ran a PR. It’s early February. He very much babysat Willis at Millrose.
Big jump coming between now and 20 if everything goes right in his training and he avoids injury. I trust Warhurst/Willis on this.

First of all- if you’re informed you would know he went all out at milrose
Secondly- if he was “babysitting” last week, shouldn’t we expect much more than a 2 second drop this week?
Very much rooting for Hobbs to break out, but there are some delusional people on this site.

I didn’t say that it was an easy babysitting job - he wasn’t escorting you.

his own teammate playfully roasted him for his Millrose performance, so your overenthusiastic defense of it seems a bit unnecessary.

indoor means nothing

Maybe if he'd won a medal at some point and was running an off distance, but under the circumstances, not so much. But thanks for trying!

This should have ended the hate much earlier. Seems like the VNTC is focused on outdoors. A lot of base building/strength stuff in the winter without a ton of races on the calendar. You can't make an indictment on an athlete or group in February. He ran fast last summer. Maybe, just maybe, he'll run fast again this summer.
Why do people think this post is hating on Hobbs? Its pretty clearly poking fun at the idiots in the other thread saying he was pacing Willis in Millrose last week (Which he was clearly not).
