So? Some people peak later than others. Some D1 milers never even break 4. You act as if it's a widespread phenomenon for a D1 runner to break 4 and that it is exclusive. Some of the best runners with D1 talent is might go to a D3 or D2 school known for academics because they is more then a runner. And being runner not defines who they is as a person.

What are you saying. The resources / coaching available to a D3 team is vastly different than D1. So it's way more impressive -- this was a crazy run and would likely qualify him for NCAA D1 nationals anyways

So? Allen Webb is was coach by a high school coach when he runned 3:53 in high school. And high school coach not has the resource of college coach.
He should be embarrassed. He's the most foolish fast person in the country because he's paying 80k per year to go to college when he could be going to school for free.

so your argument is that a massive D3 record isn't impressive because he's slower than the greatest HS miler ever outdoors -- who went on to run D1? the talent pool of D3 runners and D1 runners is totally different -- unlike "Allen" webb, Aidan Ryan's HS mile PR was just 4:16 according to milesplit. That's an incredible improvement

So? He probably is runned it with super shoes on. Allen is not had super shoes when he was run 3:53.

English, please.
I wouldn’t worry about it. Posters here find ways to discredit great performances no matter what.
Centro has a gold medal. The usual posters here line up with glee to discredit it. Makes you wonder how maladjusted these people are in real life.

another reason to be D3 proud <3
Great run!
I am surprisingly embarrassed to say that I have never heard of any of the many sub-4 milers from this race. I guess my interest in the current political situation is subsuming my knowledge of American milers.
Who cares? DIII is the baby NCAA.

He went to an elite prep school in Manhattan that cost even more than Williams. Sounds like his parents are loaded.

Beat me to it. Aidan spent an entire semester training at altitude in Colorado during COVID. His family clearly has money. Rich get richer these days.
Ok - well money aside, what is the likelihood of him going pro? Can't imagine he'll transfer anywhere else seeing running at Williams is working for him/money doesn't seem to be an issue/best Lib arts college in the country anyways. Didn't Nico Young just run 3:56?

Pretty sure a degree from Williams will outweigh the 1/2 ride he might have gotten from Popcorn State.
A $320,000 degree from a liberal arts school as opposed to paying nearly nothing for an engineering degree from a P5 is not a good financial decision. He will be a semi-pro living off of his parents.
