I was thinking the same thing. Even Teare who just had a tough loss to him seemed genuinely happy.

The running community is awesome. Makes you wonder how we have so much trash being spewed on these boards every day.
This happens at the end of almost every race now. It’s become the rule. Otherwise you’re a not-woke meanie that should be canceled. Everyone is everyone’s best friend. Trash talking not allowed.

This is how it's always been, in every sport. Trash talking is for before and maybe during the competition, immediately after the event is reserved for sportsmanship only. Why do you think teams line up for post-game hand slaps?
