BUT, both Elle and Josette Norris ran awesome to go 1 - 2 in 4:19.3 and 4:20.81. They both looked strong and determined... just fantastic. Way to go, Elle and Josette!

Good runs by them because they were the top two. I see that you are trying to belittle women’s athletics as a participation sport by congratulating all competitors equally, but here on letsrun we are fans of both genders competitions, and we give credit to the people who win.

Agreed that the lead story in the race should really be Purrier St Pierre's commanding run for the win, rather than the DNF of a non-miler (all due respect to Mu - and it's not her fault if everyone focuses on her).
It is admittedly a curious thing how an off-race by one competitor can somehow overshadow some fine performances by others.
If Elle runs the 800m her next meet, and drops at 700, I wi9ll love her even more!

Yes, very cool. I noticed another random post of yours the other day, and now this. I hope this doesn't mean things are not going well in your world. Like a time capsule seeing a post from you. Hope all is well.
THIS is closer to the Elle I was hoping to see at the Olympics. Maybe 2022 will be a better year for her at the championship level. Go Elle!
