Huge run. What a confidence builder.

Really happy for her. It has been a couple of rough years.
Here’s to continued success!
Glad to see she didn’t quit when things weren’t going well.
World leading time. Knowing Nike contracts, that unleashes a @$10k bonus. Great run. Can’t wait to see video. 3-sec+ was it all in last lap?
Took the lead with just short of 400 to go and separated seemingly effortlessly.
I’m happy for her. its got to be good for her confidence to win a race. hope she can keep the momentum going but…. 4:29 is maybe 4:11 for 1500? she ran 4;11 for 1500 last year indoors too, so it’s not as if it’s a huge step forward.
She has been running a lot of 205/206’s, so this is a big step

I convert it to 4:09.75.
Great news. I read the letsrun profile on union ac and saw the total athlete count and couldn’t come up with nearly the amount they listed.
Went to their website and saw her, had totally forgot she was still around after the rough couple of years.
Good for her, I hope she continues to progress.
She is still chasing better times from 2015-19 (her 2016 indoor PB is 4:28.91) but it is a hopeful signal. It might be more significant than the time that she apparently clearly beat solid runners like Ngarambe and Butterworth.
Will Mu beat that time at Millrose?
As Efraimson ran >16 seconds slower two weeks ago, we can expect 4:22 from Mu ;)

Apparently women runners race well below their best most of the time. And then they lop 16 secs off in a mile. The guys should learn how to do that.
I woke up thinking the same number - 4:22 for Mu... unless Purrier tries to hammer out a sub-4:20 and then maybe Mu hangs and blows away the field with an epic performance in the teens.

They do. My team always starts off the season with a bunch of guys at 4:40 who end up sub 4:20 by the end of the season. It is much harder to drop that kind of time when you run 3:58 in the first meet of the year. And people who start the season at 5:30, frequently drop more than 30 seconds on the year.

Your teams always have a bunch of sub-4:20s guys? Unless you’re the coach at Newbury Park, you’re full of crap and a sub-4:20 guy is not going to run a 4:40. Is the goal to have big improvements over the course of the season or to run fast at the end?
Cain and Efraimson are the future of US running
Cain is trying something new. She is challenging the common belief that watts per kilogram is an important metric in middle distance running.
You need people like that who can think outside the box.
Awesome news. So glad top see her back on track!
