Nick Willis first raced at the Armory in March of 2001 as a high school senior.
When this was revealed at the press conference today, Athing Mu started laughing soon after. Turns out she was born in 2002 and Cole Hocker in the summer of 2001.

Yeah because 3:35 in the Olympic semi-finals last summer isn't very impressive at 38. The man will be 39 in less than three months. The guy is training with Kessler who isn't even half his age! If he breaks 4:00 on Saturday then that is 20 straight seasons. There is a reason that would be the world record, With surgeries, injuries, etc. 20 years of sub 4 miles is an eternity in the sport.

Interesting comment.. You're saying that athletes who qualified for the last Olympics (let alone then make it to the semi-final of their chosen event) aren't world class?
These are the same people claiming that Semenya wasn't world class in the 400 or 1500. They think that world class means medal. The world population is about 8 billion. That is 8,000,000,000 To say that the top 50 in an event are not world class it not understanding basic English.
N. Willis is likely P.E.D. dirty. N. Willis has told on himself. N. Willis says Kenyans are dirty. N. Willis has beaten over 95% of Kenyan sub-3:32 1500m men. Kenyans have the advantage of being born at 5000ft. plus elevation. Kenyans have the advantage of being raised their entire lives above 5000ft. elevation. Kenyans have an opportunity to train in 40F to 80F weather. Most Kenyan elite 1500m runners have smaller ankles, smaller knees and narrow hips but somehow N. Willis has beaten most Kenyan 1500m runners. I don't buy it. N. Willis is P.E.D. dirty.

Where is it written that an elite 1500m runner has to have those types of physical parameters? Many top 1500m runners don't fit that mold. In regards to the P.E.Ds use, your claims are baseless. Willis has never even been suspected of doping.
Good memories. I raced the 2 mile at the National Scholastics at the Armory in 2001, a couple of minutes before Nick's mile. Still remember this race very well to this day!
