There are so many more pro opportunities now than say 20 years ago as there are so many shoe companies trying to make a mark. Tanner has gone pro after failing to make the NCAA indoor final last year, and finishing 10th at NCAA outdoors. Maybe that's a little harsh - he did make the Olympics after all after running 3:34.72 indoors.
